Fauci and others made a mistake not encouraging people to wear N95 and KN95 masks. When worn properly they’re much more effective than cloth masks. And also erred not encouraging family members in the same households to wear masks when they were around each other. If they could have persuaded people to do those two things it would have bought more time until vaccines were available. And would have cut down the motivation of the politicians to lock down the economy.
As to jail time and pensions for alleged perjury, I don’t see a whole lot of difference between Fauci and Flynn. The Feds shouldn’t prosecute people for what either did. And Fauci may have not intentionally lied. He may not have lied period. His and Paul’s big disagreement seemed to be over the definition of “gain of function research.” When you start prosecuting people for having a different sense of what a phrase means you’re going down a dangerous path. That’s what communist dictatorships do.
