Except that some Democrats are making the same predictions and they are making them out loud.

Democrats could suffer a big fall in 2022 elections
“I am worried,” said veteran Democratic political consultant Neil Oxman. “Other than Trump, we have not found anything that makes us as outraged as the other side is about everything they talk about.” Without urgency and anger as a motivator, Oxman frets that Democratic turnout could tail off sufficiently to let the GOP win the handful of seats necessary to take over the narrowly divided House.

‘We’re f---ed’: Dems fear turnout catastrophe from GOP voting laws
There’s growing concern — bordering on alarm — about the potential impact in 2022 of the raft of new voting restrictions.
I firmly believe all these issues will carry over to the Senate races. I don't see how they could not.

And if Democrats even considering shutdown the economy again no matter how bad Covid gets, they will de signing their death warrants. Mark my words, the country will not accept shutdowns. Period. They will defy orders to close and go to jail if necessary. Why not, their business lives will essentially be over if we do this again which never should have been done in the first place and I think all the evidence backs that up.

The state governors have that responsibility. You make it sound like the Democrats were responsible for the shutdown in 50 states last year. Texas shut down. I couldn't go to the gym, get my hair cut, many schools were close to totally virtual, I had to wear a mask almost everywhere in public. Gov. Abbott did what he thought was correct.
I would hate to see a shutdown that comes anywhere near last year's shutdown. I doubt it will happen.

I found the Boston Globe article and one other interesting in stating that there could be a possible dramatic drop off in Democratic voters in 2022. Democratic turnout in 2018 and 2022 was incredible, as was Republican turnout in 2022. Without Trump on the ballot it will be interesting to see which party it impacts more.
Yes, voting restrictions might have an impact on the 2022 election and I am sorry to say that. Voting laws should make it as easy as reasonably possible for a legitimate voter to cast their vote. The statement you cited clearly says Democrats are worried that won't happen with the new voting laws in some states.

They are worried that their propaganda won't work. It's a big ask but maybe if you have it at your fingertips with previous research, I wish somebody would provide a list of what is the most egregious "new Law" the Democrats are talking about and explain how it hurts Black and Brown voters more than White voters.
I already had this discussion with 1blackman1 in which I think I proved my point, I'm sure he disagreed, that you can "singularly" hurt a poor Black person without hurting a poor White person and there are 10 times more poor Whites than Blacks but that's when the "proportional argument" comes into play which I say is BS. 85% of all Americans, Black and White, agree that a voter ID should be necessary to vote even in a mail in ballot. More verification leads to less fraud. That is an absolute.
To this day, I keep hearing that the voter laws in Delaware, Joe Biden's state, are more restrictive than the present Georgia law. I wish somebody would prove it to me. I'll be more than happy to say I was wrong with the proof. Without it, I will not admit I'm wrong.
Minority votes are not suppressed more than any other. If so, prove it with facts.

Now I'm not sure exactly where I stand on this issue, as you do have better safeguards against fraud when people vote in person. But Trump would have been wise to encourage his people to vote by mail.

Republicans probably did vote by mail. It was the Mail in Ballot that was most subjected to fraud. That was the whole gripe about Mail in voting.

1b1- Your patronizing, insulting name-calling is 'proof' only of Yours, and the DPST inability to carry on debate in a cogent and constructive fashion based on ides, Facts, Truth, and mutually respectful interchange of ideas. Your 'posts' Prove nothing.
No - I have no respect for those who use Insults and scatology to asset their own 'superiority' over others.
1b1- you have shown the ability to debate in a cogent and constructive fashion - I do hope You elevate your arguments from the name-calling, insults, scatology, and intercourse synonyms, and Join the Adults in Debate.
Unless One is deliberately 'baiting' other posters with such posts - and DPSTs are 'Masters' at 'baiting' other posters.

Actually they allow, and to some extent encourage, stupid shit to be said, lies to be propagated, and misinformation disseminated on this forum, as evidenced by 99% of posts.
Now, saying something “mean” or “insulting” they don’t tolerate. So it’s the nice me from here on out. You’re brilliant Lev I so admire your intelligence.

Look at what's been going on since early 2020. A Pandemic, Lock downs, Mask Mandates, Social and Political division, Increase in Crime, Unemployment, a controversial vaccine. You don't think the possibility of significant voter fraud could be in the mix of all this chaos? I wouldn't rule it out completely.
