Unless it's on vinyl with a tube pre-amp and big speakers in wooden cabinets it's an anemic representation of the real thing.
Got Mott ?

Good MP3 player is an oxymoron.
Digital is certainly more convenient but will never be a match for vinyl and a decent sound system.
Besides, its raining D and I got nothing better to do then jerk yer chain ;-)
And actually, there are ways to hook bluetooth and MP3 up to vintage equipment. Easiest way is a bluetooth receiver plugged into the aux input.
This guy has some interesting videos restoring and adding BT to vintage radios :

I'm still upset with myself for not keeping an OLD Marshall tube powered bass amplifier that I managed to burn up in high school. It was massive and not very travel friendly but man alive, what depth of tone.

Which could be construed as "hijacking" in some circles! But, I'm not a mod so it don't matter!

You best watch out though! One or more of SultryBBW's gullible followers/believers will PM you and advise you that I will "inform" on you . . . ! Funny how those people find no problem with that same woman assuming a male profile, ostensibly with experience as a mod in "Southern New Hampshire".

" Meet the new boss.... " you know the rest .
Part of it is that I recently returned to vinyl and, like other born agains, am in a bit of a proselytizing mood. Like many, I wish I'd kept my old records rather then falling for the ' great lie' about CDs. I would buy cds of albums I previously had on vinyl just to be seriously disappointed in the experience.
Two albums that come to mind are Mott by Mott the Hoople and Stomping at the Savoy Life by Rufus and Chaka Khan.
Amplifying on your post ( ha) isn't hijacking. I appreciate your keeping the classics alive.

Memories for me...sorry for hi jack.
Phase Linear amp and pre-amp, Marantz tuner, Infinity column speakers. Anyone remember Disc Washer? I was an adherent.
