In the Houston metro area MEs are getting better IMO primarily due to internet communication .... decades ago there was a U.S. ag inspector looking into some milk product foolishness locally and got 2 rounds in the back with rifle loads .... "suicide"! More recently in another county nearby the son of some friends was "suicide" with three pistol rounds and one entered in the top of his head and passed out his neck ... reportedly the 3rd round. Once it's on paper it's tough to change.

The arresting officer is RESPONSIBLE for the arrestee's safety.

The WHO, CDC and Johns Hopkins probably understated the number of deaths that occurred in the USA in 2020 because of COVID. Their counts were around 335,000 to 350,000 dead. But that's much less than the 504,000. You can't attribute all of the 150,000+ difference just to changing demographics, between 2019 and 2020. There were people who died in 2020 whose deaths were attributed to things like heart disease, Alzheimer's and diabetes, who wouldn't have died in 2020 if they hadn't had COVID.

It seems like it would be awfully tough to pad the total number of deaths from all causes. That number will equal the total number of death certificates issued for the year.

So why did those additional 504,000 people die in 2020, from all causes, over the number who died in 2019 if it wasn't COVID?

#1: You apparently are forgetting that Covid19 in 2020 was not the highest death toll number .... so if one wants to pad the numbers to gain funding for the business ... it's not difficult at all.

It is highly inappropriate (IMO) for social/political policy to be established and based on stats ESTIMATED from medical summary forms that are populated by clerks who have fewer qualifications that the physicians pretending to instruct them on their job. Example: I have 2 masks sent to me by a "brilliant" mind who informed me that they were NEWLY designed and manufactured in late January 2021 (this year). They are still in the sealed envelope ... where they've been for about 4 months. They were on the market in JANUARY 2020 and were remakes from a mask manufactured 4-5 years ago by the same company. The bullshit being published these days ... is just that .... bullshit.

Again, it seems very unlikely that the total number of deaths in the USA for 2020 or 2019, which presumably match the total number of death certificates issued, was faked. The total deaths from all causes were 504,000 higher in 2020 than 2019.
