Let's review. Hunter got a $80,000 a month job as a director of Burisma, for being Joe Biden's son. This was a plum assignment because Ukrainian hookers are hot and the crack there is cheap.
Biden, at the direction of the State Department, demanded that Viktor Shokin, the corrupt Prosecutor General of the Ukraine, be fired.
Shokin was slow walking an investigation of Mykola Zlochevski, the owner of Burisma. After Shokin's ass was fired, the investigation of Zlochevski went on in earnest and Zlochevski had to go into exile.
In other words, Joe Biden was working against the best interests of his son's employer, by getting rid of the prosecutor who most likely was being paid off not to investigate the owner of Burisma, and probably a lot of other oligarchs.
So on the infamous phone call with the president of the Ukraine, one of the things Trump asked for was an investigation into Burisma and the Bidens. Which would have turned up no dirt on Joe, although it might have further burnished Hunter's reputation as a world class fuck up.
The second thing that Trump asked for was an investigation of CrowdStrike, a company that purportedly was hiding servers with Hillary Clinton's emails in the Ukraine. The Crowdstrike theory is right up there with QAnon's theory about Pizzas and Pedophiles in the race for the #1 bat shit crazy conspiracy theory in America.
Now, why did Trump do this? Well, the brilliant investigative work of the three stooges, Rudy Giuliani and his two clients, Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, pointed him in that direction. Parnas and Fruman were trying to get the CEO of the Ukrainian national gas company replaced with their guy, so they could broker LNG sales (liquified natural gas sales) from U.S. companies to the Ukrainians. Being supporters of President Trump, and anxious to curry favors like the removal of the U.S. ambassador to the Ukraine who was meddling with their master plan to dominate the Ukrainian gas industry, they started trying to dig up dirt on Biden. Victor Shokin (the prosecutor who never went after Burisma) was only too happy to help. His name was mud and rewriting history, so that Biden was helping Zlochevski get off instead of him, seemed like a good idea.
Since Trump, being Trump, wasn't paying Rudy, the side business with the LNG was a way for him to pay for his trips to the Ukraine. And for his cigars.
Like I said before, with friends like Giuliani, Parnas and Fruman, who needs enemies. And, without Giuliani, Trump wouldn't have been impeached over the Ukrainian scandal. Because there would have been no scandal.
