A police officer can break the law pursuant to his investigation. That includes sending dick pics, although I've never heard of such a case.
Also, sending an obscene image to a person the offender THINKS is a minor is a felony, whether or not they actually are a minor.

I read with the FOSTA law there is no such thing as entrapment either.

I have no idea what minors has to do with this. This is about women(mainly AA it seems) requesting dick pics as a form to prevent LE from putting them in a position of being arrested because LE "can't send dick pics". Which also is a bunch of bullshit.
That being said, if you ever come across someone that looks on the line of legal, it's best to ask their age or just disregard their services. Human trafficking is a real thing is should be scrubbed from the Earth.

Actually I believe you are incorrect. If you get caught with an under age young lady you can be charged no matter if she looks like she is 30. Depends on the DA but you can also be charged for sending the wrong photo to someone that has told you that they are over 21 but isn't. Sending a dick photo is stupid no matter if you know the woman or not. I have received request from women ask for dick photo and everyone of them was White.

I refer all posters back to Shyster John's post:
"A police officer can break the law pursuant to his investigation. That includes sending dick pics, although I've never heard of such a case.

First, Shyster John IS an attorney and if you take the time to read Shyster John's posts you'll find he's a very knowledgeable and practical attorney.
But hey, what would I know?

The other thing you have to think about is that different states have different laws about Law Enforcement officers and what is and is not legal. Sometimes it seem going from one state to another is almost like going from one country and going to another.

I always quit when someone misuses the word racist, cause all I see are ethnic stereotypes which in no way alludes to one races superiority over another race, which is needed to be racist.
The media misuses this word more than anyone and it is extremely annoying.

That's untrue in Texas. Under Texas Penal Code Sec. 43.24(b)(1): "A person commits an offense if, knowing that the material is harmful ... and knowing the person is a minor, he sells, distributes, exhibits, or possesses for sale, distribution, or exhibition to a minor harmful material...." (Emphasis added.)

I believe that you know more than I do about the law but as I stated earlier it depends on the state you are in. You quoted a Texas Penal Code. I have lived in numerous state and not only are the laws different from state to state but also county to county inside that state.

You're applying what I said to a situation of where someone actually meets with the person in the picture and had sex or is still pursuant in soliciting sex. I was mentioning cyber crimes which is different as there's no face to face. It looks worse when you actually meet someone underage because the demeanor of that person will come up for discussion in how they play the underage card.
Ignorance only goes so far when actually soliciting sex face to face.
There's been a few cases (not solicitation) where people have actually got away with having sex with someone who stated they were 18 and a few where they didn't. Cody Wilson is one (the dude that made those 3d printed guns). I also think his defense was that the girl stated she was 18 or over and the website they met on was supposed to be for 18 and over people.
I also read that a fake ID is still not a good defense. Which is fucked up. I don't think bars or stores get charged/fined for selling to people with fake IDs. There's really not much sympathy when it comes to sex crimes as you're already in the hot seat for soliciting sex for $.
I also think at age 14 and under there's zero defense that can be made when you're above a certain age. It's also a felony. As I said before, it's best just to stay away. I know I said ask for age (not that this is for saving someone in court, it's more for comfort), but it's best just to not even do that if you're getting the vibe of asking age to begin with.

I agree, but I'd be surprised reading a statue on this subject without a mens rea requirement - that is, a law that doesn't demand that the DA prove a mental state.
