So given the fact its been 34 years since you've looked for something, I'm guessing you're at least in your 60's. The clubs and bars in southside/oakland/shadyside aren't going to be good fits for you, especially if you go alone; people will think you're some creepy old dude. Go with friends to really divey bars and spit game at girls. There's no magic formula. The more you do it, the better you'll get, but if you're some 300 pound, 60 year old ogre, there's only so much you can do. Can't believe I have to explain this to someone who should know what they're doing. Fucking boomers.

Dude you basically asked a bunch of strangers on the internet how to pick up a girl at a bar. I mean google is your friend I guess, but I’ve always boiled my game down to the old Gretzky line, “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”. Here’s a tip. If a girl makes eye contact with you, and doesn’t immediately look away, keep eye contact with her and approach her, even if she is with her friends. Looking away or not acting on it shows a lack of confidence, which is the number one quality women look for in a man without knowing it. Ever wonder why you see an ugly dude with a hot girl? Because he had the balls.

Here's my two cents - the game is soo much easier now than it was 20 years ago. Back then you had to work your ass off trying to impress a girl enough to get her phone #. Nowadays everyone has a smartphone. You can take a selfie with a girl and offer to send it to her on the spot. Presto - you have her digits! Then you can follow up with flirty, amusing texts out of the blue. Don't blow up her phone like a stalker, just get to know her gradually. And don't get bent out of shape if she doesn't respond every 10 seconds. Move on and text one of your other civvie friends.

Also, whenever you go out, you should befriend the bartender and tip well. He (or she) can usually tell you which girls are regulars, which are a waste of time, etc. A good bartender can also be a character reference when you're trying to introduce yourself. Lots of bartenders will readily attest to my bad character lol.

Ok...so here's where to find single pussy. Wexford, warrendale or Monroeville all have lots of single ladies. Find where mid level apartment complexes are or townhouse communities. Full of single women who have tons of problems and looking for a distraction. Honestly if you could do a side hustle as a property manager or know one, or a storage rental place....fucking full of singles all over. Plus all kinds of drama. Just been my experience that if you go there it's easy pickins. Also any of the primanti's brothers places usually have ladies that venture in as a 2 some.

Never asked how to pick up women, I asked "Any suggestions for finding single women in the Burgh..." Just looking for spots to look and take a crack at it. I'm not in my sixties - married during college. I'm not over weight, work in a professional capacity, just looking for suggestions as to where single women hang out. Years ago it was Chauncy's and a couple bars in the strip district, young and old patronized those bars.

Seconding eyecu2. There's a horde of horny professional woman in need of a distraction from their unfulfilling lives just waiting in Cranberry/Warrendale. I accidentally made a successful move at the Tiki bar or whatever it's called in Cranberry. I was with a friend who's like chum in the water to these ladies but has no game whatsoever, and is married anyway. Somehow while he was taking a piss I stumbled into introducing myself to these two girls sat adjacent to us and they hit it off with us and we had a great night.

If it's any consolation to the older gents of the forum who are looking to pick up civies but feeling apprehensive, I went out to have a drink and watch the Pens and this fairly attractive woman about 50 years old was waiting at the end of the bar alone. In walks this much older, grizzled guy with some mileage who started charming her pants off. I gleaned that they were meeting there, probably via some dating app. He seemed to be doing just fine.

Chauncey's was never a dive bar in my opinion, but dude is looking for dive bars.

There used to be a great dive bar in Cranberry called Marty's Suburban. 25 years ago I worked 11-7 and would go there after work...and get absolutely smashed by noon lol
...but that's not Pittsburgh proper.

Let's see - there's a dive bar in McKees Rocks (no seriously lol) called Michael's Lounge. Great wings, cheap beer and always a few hoodrats smoking cigs at the bar. Tucked away on a side street. Pretty cool place actually.
Also, the Obey House (pronounced oh-bee) Tavern on stueben street in Crafton Heights. Good food too.

I also found this on the interwebz - I'm pretty sure a couple of them didn't make it through the pandemic (Hambones is no longer open) but this is a good starting point for the local dive bar scene
