In 2016, he hijacked the GOP, so he had an intact party organization to run his campaign, no matter how much they hated him. They were stuck with him.

But, in 2024, he will have to build his own organization. There won't be any experienced organizers to help him get a party started. The hillbillies you refer to may seek to follow him, but that isn't enough. You need smarts to do it and Trump won't have it.

Bernie Sanders came awfully close twice to becoming the Democratic nominee. In a Trump/Sanders match up, my money would have been on Bernie. Polling in 2016 had him 10 points ahead of Trump,

Since you have provided no documentation for your "recent poll" I have no choice other than to disbelieve it. I would love to know the sample size and confidence interval of such a poll.

In my younger days I received the following advice from a very wise man. He said "Never overestimate the intelligence of the general population." If as you say -- there are still 63 million people that would vote for Trump again after all his antics since he lost the election -- then truer words were never spoken to me. Ever.
