Levianon, could you please provide documentation of your statement about hypoxia and CO2 retention dangers from masks. I have researched such claims before and have not found anything to suubstantiate such health risk other than theoretical risk to persons who suffer COPD, and even then likely inconsequential.
You may have become confused somewhere along the way, judging by the statement that you wear a mask to ward off contracting a virus. That is only true of N95 masks, which are not recommended for general use. The mask you describe as being composed of synthetic fibers or cotton cloth are to protect OTHERS from YOU and vice versa. The articles I posted early in this thread can provide you with a better understanding of the purpose, use and myths regarding face masks.

Waco, I think you may have missed a paragraph or two in the article you referenced:
"After the police published the post, several commenters questionedthe legitimacy of the images and the information provided from the accident report.
MORE: Making your own face mask
"Considering the overwhelming response this post has received, the following should be said," the updated caption began. "As it relates to this specific incident, we reiterate that police officers are not physicians and do not know the medical history of every person we encounter... It was stated in the original post that we 'believed' the excessive wearing of an N95 mask was a contributing factor to this accident. While we don't know this with 100% certainty, we do know that the driver had been wearing an N95 mask inside the vehicle for several hours and ultimately passed out while operating the vehicle."
Beside the disclaimer in the article itself, he was wearing an N95 mask, which is not currently recommended, didn't need to wear a mask at all if he was alone in the car, and could have passed out for any number of unrelated reasons. Sorry, but doesn't constitute proof to me.
Frontline health care workers wear N95 masks for hours on end, but I'm not aware of reports that they are dropping like flies, as might be expected if masks were truly a health risk.

so you'll take the posts of commenters over the police who have experts in analyzing traffic accidents and medical examiners.

I've breathed in random particles from the mask into my throat, and the shit gets lodged in there, sometimes for days. At least that's what it feels like. I fuggin hate wearing those things. I routinely breathe random shit into my throat from whatever tf the material is. I learned not to breathe through my mouth anymore, but it's still annoying af.
I have to wear one of those to go the gym. Wtf? You might as well keep the gym closed. No way in hell I am going to be hyperventilating through one of those god damn things.

I just avoid any machine that is wet - something I have done for the last 40 years of weightlifting. Of course, they now have handy wipes everywhere but the staff is also cleaning constantly.
i wear a mask during my entire workout per governmental regulations.
They specifically avoid hiring lazy faggots and [redacteds] where I work out...
Do you get arrested in Canada if you call a gay person a "faggot"?

Exactly. I've been wearing a KN95 mask in the gym while doing interval training on a stationary bike, which is not recommended by health experts. It's a little uncomfortable, but I think I've got a bit more stamina as a result. Maybe I'm a little faster when I'm running outside without a mask. Wearing a mask while exercising may have a similar effect to training at altitude.
I'm not recommending anybody do what I'm doing by the way. I'd hate to see one of our fellow esteemed posters try the same thing and drop dead.
