Scroll down to "daily deaths" and look at the difference between the universal masking case and the other two cases -- 200 deaths per day come November, versus 860 for their base case and 1300 for their "easing" case.

Texas is even more stark, 187 deaths per day for base and "easing" cases versus 30 for universal masking:

My gut tells me we won't actually get to 187, either because some good things happen (for example most people wear masks and treatments continue to improve) or we end up with another lockdown.

In Trump's defense, you can't blame it all on him. The responses of the CDC, the FDA, the health care system, some of the governors, they were all lacking. Texas was below 2600 deaths just a few days ago. Now TX is at 2823. We added 283 deaths in under a week. It took 4 months to get to 2500. And you don't think the problem is getting worse?

Harris county lost 6 JUST yesterday. Not in 4 days. Dallas lost 9, Tarrant lost 10. In total, TX lost 85 people yesterday and the rate is increasing. How long until we hit NY numbers? 2 weeks? 3 weeks?

No, the flu would NOT have gotten them.

In a bad year, flu kills 50K. We are already at 140K in only 4 months. We will have over 200K by the end of the year. So, no, we are losing a LOT more than flu alone would take.
