Yet the odds are VERY high that Biden, assuming he is the Democratic nominee, will have more popular votes than Trump. Maybe not more electoral votes but certainly more popular votes.

If the decision was that easy, Trump would win the popular vote too.

Yes, as the founders intended. Partisan California put Hillary over the top in popular vote. Without it, she loses the popular vote, so not quite as easy as saying that if it were that easy Trump would win the popular vote to.

And yes, drop out partisan Texas and Hillary wins popular vote and the electoral votes.

But we have the system we have and it favors not having a few states rule the entire nation.

At the current time, I would say Michigan is more likely to go to Biden than Pennsylvania. But Pennsylvania is certainly possible.

I have a Facebook friend who is a diehard Trump supporter, past, present, and I'm sure future.

Just prior to the 2016 election she posted a meme stating that the election should be determined by popular vote, probably believing Trump would win the popular vote but lose the electoral vote.

Immediately after the election, she posted a meme stating that the election shold be determined by electoral vote.

I'd be willing to bet that many others share her changing opinion. Had Trump won the popular vote and lost the electoral vote, many of his supporters would be in favor of changing the rules.

SR - making assumptions based on preliminary data - as u have posted - it is a long time to the election.

Much can happen.

Even if Biden is the nomine - he is so confused already - and will be worse in times to come- He is not a viable candidate as POTUS - He does not hae the mental strength of mind, character, or moral fiber.
The DPST's are already looking for a substitute - and Bernie and H.... are waiting to pounce.

So is Andrew Cuomo - the whiny unprepared gov of the Socdailsit state fo NY - and his sidekick - No Show Deblasio - who has been absent from the muor's ofice while he pursues the presidency - and plans a VP slot with Cuomo. Except - VP - Cuomo will tap his Bro!
A lot can and will happen - DPST's and DNC are trying to plan to ditch Biden - and not get coerced into a Bernie nomination. Their nightmare. And an opportunity to expose the Socialist nonsense in open debate that he supports. Along with the DPST party!

As I continue to say --

Despite what Trump supporters such as yourslf believe to be a lack of mental accuity or strength, he is right there with Trump as far as anyone can tell. Leads Trump at a national level and is neck-and-neck in battleground states. Trump follows the polls daily and is aware of this.

Biden will in all likelihood have the votes to secure the nomination on the first ballot at the Democratic convention. There are no "Super Delegates" on the first vote. So I'm intersted in knowing why you and others believe he will not win the nomination. I have neither seen nor heard of anyone searching for a more viable candidate. Biden is far ahead of Sanders among voters on a national level. I have not seen any talk of Hillary returning from the trash heap.

Biden has more than 10 times the endorsements than Sanders.

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com...ex_cid=irpromo

So I'm interested in knowing where the information is coming from thatmakes you believe Democrats are making a concerted effort to ditch Biden.

Agreed- i do not have a line into the minds of the DNC - and i thank my lucky stars for that.

I disagree about Biden's mental state - that has been previously presented.

Biden is being kept under wraps - his most recent appearance was a disaster of inability to maintain a train of thought, or coherent presentation/speaking - despite a teleprompter.

The DNC sees this - and IMHO- are making plans to replace Biden- he was a useful idiot to block out Bernie - but his usefullness is finished - he cannot compete for POTUS with his mental decline.

H... had a truly nasty, self-centered tweet yesterday about coronavirus. her appearances clearly show she views herself as a candidate for 2020- yet she shot herself in the foot again. a text much like her "deplorables" comment. Of course - the DNC will forgive and forget it, just as the "Rape" allegations against Biden.

Biden's excuse - "I do not remember'!

I concede you are correct, and I'm happy the electoral college is enshrined in the constitution, and I would fight to defend it if it helps Trump win.
