Farmstud and HedonistForever have the answers. With no change in human behavior, each person who's infected will pass the disease onto 2.5 people. Then you've got something like the miracle of compound interest, as described by Benjamin Franklin, on speed.

I'll join you, he is now #3 on my ignore list and any other person that brings color into this discussion will be put on ignore. Yeah, yeah, TF you don't care, I know that but when people don't speak up about people like TF, we lose a little more of our humanity.
Pointing out crime statistics as it relates to any particular race or religion is one thing, condemning all persons of a particular race or religion is inhumane and must be called out.

If anyone has ever been to Louisiana, they know that the majority of the people are black. Everyone knows there a lot of black people in Louisiana. But everyone seems to get along OK. I have been to Louisiana a lot, years ago I set up a business there; sold it a few years later. No problems. Now then you want to talk about race problems; to to Memphis, Tennessee. Damn that place was about 80% black 40 years ago, every guy I worked with carried a gun, both black and white. The crime levels were wild because it only takes a few people to make things crazy.
Now onto the subject. The celebrations and all of the street parades should have been canceled. But people want to do what they want, and they don't want to listen. Most people are like that, not just in Louisiana. Most political officials just want to get along with everyone to get elected again. They didn't have the guts to stop the party. The sickness level is now wild because it only takes a few people to make things crazy.

Hey Turd,
The Black Plague was in Europe, and it had nothing to do with race. It went up and down the Danube River and destroyed the population of Europe. The entire balance of civilization, and history, was changed.
Before commenting and making a joke of the worst pandemic in history, pick up a book and go on line and read up on things. You might learn something.

since this is about new orleans. I do have a gripe about the mayor of new orleans.
I cannot believe the people of new orleans voted for a california transplant over a new orleans native. that was a complete shock for me.

The entire City of New Orleans is a bad idea - it justs goes from disaster to disaster and it is mostly below sea level in a bad hurricane zone.
Lets print the money, buy them out, and bulldoze that shithole.

The incubation period is suggested to be about 15 days and many people who test positive have very minor symptoms. People could been sick and passed it off as a cold or the flu. This is not unusual when you put a lot of people in a small area. When my ship deployed almost everyone had some little illness for a couple of weeks.

Just save the PO' BOYS ( half shrimp half oyster please ), the Red Beans and Rice, Etouffee and Beignets. Then you can bulldoze the place.
I lived just outside Orleans Parish in Jefferson Parish for 20 years and the only thing I miss is the food.

The French Quarter is packed daily.
"We" may not of "flattened the curve" but just moved it.
It could very well be that letting the disease move through the community is inevitable. It didn't help that the ChiComs and WHO lied to us.
This isn't polio. Be thankful that only some of the old and feeble are succumbing to it and not our children.
Don't panic. We'll get through it.

There is a huge lag in the US of "recovered" cases because you have to be virus free for 2 weeks before they proclaim you recovered.
There are at least 2700 cases in Louisiana. I'm sure there are a much of recovered cases, but if people don't return to get tested, the recovery ones don't get reported.
