I like the president with all his goods and bads but the check has nothing to do with it Sir... if and whoever gets it. We pay taxes to the government whether we like our president or not, why should any tax payer have any problem cashing the check from the government regardless if they like the president or not. Trump is not giving his own money, it is our money.

your homework assignment, sir, is to find 10 quotes from any of Pelosi, Schumer, or Obama that show they are clueless. you may vehemently disagree with all of them on substantive matters of policy, but that is not the same as showing them to be clueless. in fact, those three are 3 quite aware individuals, and when they don't know something, they either study up on it and consult with experts or admit they are not experts on the matter, unlike our clueless president who already knows more than doctors about medicine, lawyers about the law, generals about war and peace, etc etc.

if you complete your homework assignment sucessfully, i will concede the point. but you will be unable to do so, is my prediction. i can get 10 idiotic statements made by the Orange Clown in Chief in under 10 minutes that show he has no clue and isn't self-aware enough to even know how clueless he is. and he's lazy-he never prepares for anything and he prefers colorful pictures to words-and has the attention span of an unmedicated child with ADHD, which doesn't help matters much.

by the way, the president's inability to focus also makes him a terrible negotiator. so the Chinese and other world adversaries play the long game and just wait for him to get distracted and end up having to give up little or nothing. what has he accomplished with North Korea? not one damn concession. Iran? nothing. China? practically nothing. Turkey which is attacking our allies the Kurds? nothing. he goes from one failed negotiation to the next. and now, he is completely cut out of negotiations with Congress as well. Steven Mnuchin is the de facto Chief Executive when it comes to negotiations with Congress. "SAD, for HIM being the BEST Negotiator in HISTORY!!!!"

Homework assignments...LMAO

How about "we need to pass the bill to find out what's in it"? She was pushing a bill that she knew nothing about. Yeah Clueless.

Or Schumer saying to two specific SCOTUS justices" You will pay the price" ? Pretty clueless if he doesn't know that's a lifetime. or was it a more sinister threat?

How clueless was Obama when he said the Cambridge police acted stupidly? It was later proven that he didn't have all the facts but he ran his mouth about it anyway.

There's one from each right off the top of my head.

BTW, 25 million for deep cleaning of the Kennedy Center? They've got 400 million in assets. They should be able to afford to pay Serve Pro a couple hundred thousand to clean everything with a toothbrush.
Makes me wonder though. Those rich liberal Kennedy Center patrons must be some filthy slobs.

Medicare today revolves around the needs and wants of for-profit companies and their shareholders, and not around the needs of its beneficiaries. it needs to be redesigned from scratch.

although i've resolved to take up base jumping and wingsuit flying if i get old enough to be no longer having fun, that's a personal decision. how a society treats it's poor, disabled, and elderly reflects on the values, or lack thereof, of that society.

different topic. here's a pretty good chronicle of some of Trump's most idiotic statements showing that he is clueless, although it barely scratches the surface: https://foreignpolicy.com/2017/06/16...-be-president/

finally, great article on Nancy Pelosi:

I agree with you on the health care system and it's doctors too. I've got a personal example that I won't go into but trust me the doctors are as much to blame. When I called my Dr. out on his BS he immediately went into blaming the system. I asked him if he was part of the system. He stumbled around a half-assed acknowledgment and refused to talk to me anymore when I told him by being part of the system he is part of the problem.
One other thing, the insurance companies are in on it too. Try sending them disputed invoices with unsubstantiated tests, bogus charges and double billings. They'll take the side of the Dr or Hospital every time. They need those facilities and providers accepting their insurance in order to have paying customers.

They play these games of sending you invoices for exorbitant fees. $8000 for an MRI, for example, then show the insurance companies "negotiated" discount which brings the cost of the MRI down to $2000. I kid you not. I know of a young man who had the exact same MRI but showed up to the ER as a cash payer.
The charge for the MRI? $750. This was less than 6 months apart.
Total billed charges Doctor, labs, diagnostics, all in, $15000 with insurance vs $1250 as a cash payer. Same amount of time in the ER, same tests.

Present that to your insurance company and see what they say. They won't say a fucking thing.

If I ever need to go to the ER again and I can walk in and speak I'll identify as a cash payer.

i don't hate him any more than i hate a cockroach. he's basically the Cockroach in Chief.

a check for every American isn't Trump's idea; it's Andrew Yang's. I pay 10s of thousands of dollars a year in taxes. if the fed wants to give me some of my money back, that's their call. but it would be nice if they could turn us from a debtor nation into a creditor nation, or at least balance their damn books.

and you are correct sir; you are on topic. well done.

wow. crazy.

but cash payers who aren't willing to tell hospitals and their collection agencies to go screw themselves..also get screwed. these facilities expect the cash payer to pay the sticker price. if you try it out, let us know how it goes.

when i negotiate, i offer a fair amount, or nothing. once they realize you're not kidding, they will negotiate too, but not before then. and when they start spitting out legal mumbo jumbo, i literally break out in guffaws. but not everyone is able to do that. the current system sucks, is the best synopsis i can offer.

It's always been quite funny to me , how such a pious christian (majority) nation has nothing but contempt for those that are less fortunate. I don't remember reading that our Lord and Savior was hanging with Herod and his cronies, wining and dining , aka prosperity gospel! Or how they see no problems at all with this ,unique among civilized industrial societies , abominable ‘health care system’ .Designed to pretty much be raped and pillaged. Legally ofc. Ergo, only time Lord of Peace was violent was around those pesky money changers throwing tables....

And I'm really glad that for the second time in less then 15 years our titans of neo-liberal dogma, devotees of Austrian school, proud practitioners of trickle down voodoo economics are resorting to pure communism and taking as much as they need. Communism for them, laissez faire for everybody else.

so now Trump knows more than the top Infectious Disease specialist in the country..

https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...034_story.html

it would be funny if it wasn't so catastrophic what Trump's about to do: tell everyone to go back to work around Easter or a little after.

you heard it first here: if Trump goes through with his plan and people actually follow his recommendation, what will happen to America is going to make what is happening today look like tiddlywinks.

The.Great.Depression.PartII
Catastrophic.Loss.of.Life
Global.Economic.Meltdown.

and yup, you can quote me on that in about a month. he should be immediately re-impeached and removed from office before he has the chance to drive the U.S. off a cliff with his bonkers "expertise," or Section 4 of the 25th Amendment should be immediately invoked by Mike Pence, who should then make Dr. Fauci his Coronavirus czar with full police powers of enforcement.

Just keep quoting media like the Washington Post, NY Times, CNN, MSNBC, etc. to fit your Trump hating agenda.

he doesn't accept objective reality.

these aren't opinion pieces, these are fact pieces about trump's plans. the opinion is mine alone. i have a phd in microbiology, so i'm not exactly uninformed.

trump doesn't believe in science.

trump knows more than experts about...everything.

keep supporting trump and if he is not deposed or talked into accepting facts, watch what happens.

you heard it here first. feel free to quote me later.

I'll quote you right now and say that if you think WAPO, NYT or any of the many other left leaning media outlets aren't spinning comments, and phrases and words to fit their agenda and promote them as just the facts then TDS has so clearly clouded your judgment that any opinions you may offer up need to be considered with that it mind.

Doesn't believe in science? The press conferences I've watched have had several scientists giving their opinions and thanking him for his support. What I haven't seen is Trump trotting Franklin Graham up there offer up nightly prayers to God to fix the problem and leaving it in his hands.

Trump has said he is hopeful that we can get back. He's not said that he is planning anything of the sort. In actuality it would be the Governors and Mayors who would make those decisions anyway. Trump saying "go back to work" doesn't magically do away with stay at home orders issued by state and local authorities. The feds didn't have the constitutional authority nor the power to enforce a "lock down". Do you now think the have the authority to make people come back out of their homes and go back to work?
People will come out of their homes when they feel safe.

Trump is a doer not a talker. That's why he is so hated in DC. Is he being a little unrealistic? Perhaps or maybe even probably but understand He's as impatient as we all are and he knows that people want to get back to work and get this behind us. He's offering up hope but at the same time he's said that this is still very fluid and things can change. That last part the media isn't reporting and some networks are stopping coverage of his press conferences because they want to be able to spin what he says rather than let people watch it live.

Isn't it funny how Obama offered up hope and became a media darling. Trump offers up hope and he is crucified. He IS tempering his personal optimism by letting medical experts like Fauchi and Brooks and Adams give their opinions as he is standing there listening to them. He's not censoring what they say. If he was we wouldn't be seeing them.

well said sir. as long as he doesn't get up and tell everyone to go back to work after Easter, i won't call for his immediate removal. but if he does or if he fires/muzzles Dr. Fauci, then i will change my tune. his messaging is so muddled and he changes his mind so much, sometimes it's impossible to know exactly what he will do. at this point i would say he may tell everyone to go back to work after Easter, and he may not. we'll have to wait and see.

my small business is running about 25% of it's normal receipts, from our migration to online services. i'm as frustrated as the next guy. but i defer to the scientific experts on when it's safe to go back to business-as-usual, and Trump should do the same. if by some miracle Dr. Fauci says we should all go back to work after Easter, i'll be as happy as anyone. but if not, hopefully trump will defer to the scientific experts, or things will go and end badly, i predict.
