Armchair expertise is no substitute for the real thing. I'd rather not force healthcare workers to pick who lives and who dies, and have 100s of thousands of Americans with long-lasting, life-altering conditions like pulmonary fibrosis. The consensus among experts seems to be that we have a very limited time (weeks not months) to expedite FDA approval and production of rapid testing for antigens and antibodies so we know who actively has the virus and who had it but is now immune. Once that's done, we can start up the economy again. Pausing the economy is a stop-gap measure to reset the clock on the evolution of this epidemic only necessary because of our piss-poor testing rate. S Korea was testing 10k/day within a week of their first case.

not only that - but they were doing contact checks dating back a week for those that tested positive which helped them contain it...

no doubt testing is one of the key measures in getting ahead of this...

we just came out of the gates so far behind on this front...

[QUOTE=ElumEno;1061998174]
The writing is on the wall with companies issuing "Travel Restriction Exemption" letters to essential employees.
IE: Medical, Banking, Stores, Gas Station, Trucking/Railway and others.

Signed for the letter and photo ID from my employer today, good news is that I have a job, bad news is that I will be required to work no matter how bad it gets.
What I mean by that is that even if a coworker tests positive for the virus, those considered essential employees, will have to report to work. [QUOTE]

ME too, got my letter today from my empoloyer. Gotta be there no matter what. Don't know what is worst, working through it or being one staying home. I know my work isn't going to pay me if we weren't one that got to stay open. Ultimately my health is more important.

me too - got the call - but - i don't have to travel again till next week - i get this week to be 'safe'...

i too am grateful to be working and busy in the food supply chain business but health is a concern - especially in the next few weeks...

hopefully some of these ant-viral studies will pay off!

I sure agree with that, the global economic toll when this is all said and done is going to be comparable to the 1930's.
