Default dallas county pop: 2,700,000/virus 28

As of march 17, dallas county has only 28 virus cases in population of over 2,700,000- (online info as of march 17)
-am i the ONLY person who thinks this forced business close down --with the great loss of income it is causing--is just plain STUPID and over-reaction to the FALSE SCARE the media has produced ??

I say that’s pretty good. However, how many got tested? If only 100 got tested and 28 positive, that is pretty scary.

The number is low because they aren't testing as much as they should. When countries go on lockdown, it seems to be a legit issue

I guarantee you the number infected is much higher. A lot of the people infected are asymptomatic. You and I will probably be fine, but if we continue to spread this disease, we will most definitely spread it to those who are most vulnerable. Also, the medical community is not equipped to handle too many who are infected. The Washington Post had a great interactive visual showing the effects of social distancing.

Dallas County Hooker pop: estimated @ 1,000+

Of those 1,000 who are prepared for a slowdown: 1.5 (and it’s not the OP)

Q. What’s the Over/Under on how many Covid19 threADS the OP will write before the end of the month?

It's a risk just going to the grocery store. The vaccine is a year away. Social distancing is only thing the government can do right now. The corona virus is more contagious than seasonal flu. Texas went from 24 cases on Sunday to 124 by the close of the reporting period for 3/17/20.

As someone who is currently immunocompromised....

Sit the fuck down. Shut the fuck up. This isn't your lane. You have no medical background and I'm sure no experience in epidemiology, immunology-- and judging by your posts thus far-- statistics.

I get it... you're thirsty. But you're constantly trying to spread misinformation and you're being incredibly irresponsible on a social scale about it.

Yeah-- 97% of people will recover from COVID just fine. But.. for some it is potentially devastating.

Thank you, Grace.

Am I worried about dying from COVID-19? No, but I am not in a higher risk category. I also work from home and don't spend much time in large groups. I've never gotten the flu, thankfully and have never had the vaccine because of an allergy.

HOWEVER, now that they are starting widespread testing, I think we are all going to be SHOCKED at the number of people infected. Kevin Durant and 3 other Brooklyn Nets players are positive in addition to at least 3 other NBA players. If we test everyone, I think the number of asymptomatic people will be staggering - and we don't know if they are capable of spreading the virus.

I can understand that some ladies have to keep working for necessity. But for guys to take the risk of any close contract with a stranger, I just can't understand it. It worries me about what other risk some people are willing to take.

Dallas hospitals yesterday reported new cases severe enough to be hospitalized (some in critical care) and those people are in their 20's, 30's, and 40's with no pre-existing conditions.

So while mortality rates are also important numbers, they don't tell the whole story. Italy is seeing the same thing. Younger people are coming down with it and getting hospitalized.

The AHA estimated that 15-20% of patients that contract it would require hospitalization, and there are risks of permanent lung damage and reproductive organ damage.

Do not take this lightly no matter your age.

Beyond illness, once you are test positive, would you want to tell medical staff who you been in contact with? “I fucked providers”, “I am a provider and fuck x number of men and here are their numbers” or “I’ve been to xx spas” If you lie, you’re giving false info during the medical emergency, which can land you in jail.

They've already determined that asymptomatic people are still shedding the virus. This is why we're starting to see community transmission cases in places where NOBODY has left their county, much less the state or country and have no history of being around anyone that is sick.

Its incredibly irresponsible to take this too lightly. This is how things like this spread.

I have had biochemistry and microbiology, that is beside the point. Everything I wrote was 100% accurate. The state of Texas is up to 260. Just read the link. Before you throw darts at someone provide a link that disputes what I wrote. Otherwise, follow your own advice, stay in your lane and shut the FUCK up.

Grace was not replying to you. She was replying to the original poster who had been spamming threads all day with the "much ado about nothing" posts. Her posts clearly agreed with your viewpoint.

(PS IF you happen to see this and edit it, I will remove the quote as well)
