The mass exodus of users from here, the limited utility of this site without ads or showcases leading most providers elsewhere, and heavy-handed and inconsistently enforced moderation stifling discussion here have led to many of us having most of our hobby interactions on Twitter these days.

I know that some don't like Twitter and don't want to join but it is vastly more interesting than AR eccie as it exists now, plus you can largely speak your mind without fear of consequences and the mere implication that someone might be nude even without any of their bits showing isn't a cause for alarm that the apocalypse is nigh (nor is actual nudity).

Join us if you like. I'm @SpankyJohnson66 there if you or anyone else wants to follow and rediscover some of the fun that used to make this site great. I have no plans to post here anymore, except perhaps on rare occasions such as this.

I avoid Twitter, because I'm not a twit.

But that said, I personally would avoid using conventional social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram) for hobby purposes, considering that your data there probably isn't safe (especially on Facebook). And I'll wager sooner or later the authorities are going to get to them, too. It's only a matterof time.

Offhand, if I were active in the hobby scene I'd focus on hobby related social media, if any exist anymore.
