That young man has a serious pair of balls. And he probably did more to ease racial tension than anyone white or black has done to date.

This young man, Brandt Jean is not an American or more specifically from the USA. He was born in St Lucia and is still a citizen there. From the meme that Chung posted, it appears the Internet trolls have decided to lump him in with all other "AmeriKKKan" AA males. In his country, he is not a minority.
His parents appear to be successful, certainly, they are not destitute. I think I read that his mother has held a position at some point with their government.
Obviously, their children have been raised to work hard, help others, look forward and I doubt they sit around and dwell on how disadvantaged they are.

That's not the same thing at all. There is a difference between the perceived danger level between a man versus a women.
To reverse the situation it would be: "What if a 5ft 3inch black female police officer shot a large white 200 pound man sitting in his home eating ice cream because she mistakenly thought he was in her apartment?
I would be content if the verdict and punishment were the same.
