Bio's and updates gone...

Well it looks like bio pages and our update areas are gone. Who knows for how long. I'm in Memphis until Wednesday morning. This is probably going to leave me with alot of down time of boredom lol. I was supposed to be visiting Chattanooga on the 10th and 11th. Looks like I might have to change my plans if things don't change. Either way it wouldn't hurt for everyone to exchange contact info if you would be interested in meeting someone sometime.

New laws went into affect on September 1st in Texas. Making things a felony.

Sec. 43.041. AGGRAVATED ONLINE PROMOTION OF PROSTITUTION.

(a) A person commits an offense if the person owns, manages, or operates an interactive computer service with the intent to promote the prostitution of five or more persons or facilitate five or more persons to engage in prostitution.

I'm quite sure they are working on a way to cover their ass without shutting down. Can't blame them one bit.

Well, IANAL (anymore), but what remains of my legal mind suggests that ECCIE's days are numbered, and they probably should have shut the site down yesterday. Which is, I suppose, what you were saying in your original post.

I get to Memphis once in a while but mostly Knoxville and Nashville, I had Chattanooga in my immediate future but looks like I won't ever to be able to advertise for it at least on ECCIE. Yikes.

If guys have not taken down their faves info OR the info of ladies they've admired but never seen....now is the time do to it.
We've come back from a shut down before but with ECCIE scaling back yet again I would NOT procrastinate any further.

The law isn't restricted territorially; basically hosting a hobby site anywhere will subject you to Texas criminal prosecution. The only limitation is Texas personal jurisdiction; the Texas courts can't proceed against you unless the authorities can haul your ass in front of a Texas court.

So basically, yes, a Texan running a hobby board for five or more Texas escorts is in violation of the law. But a Texan running a hobby board for fire or more non-Texas escorts is also in violation of the law (this is the situation many ECCIE owners/admins/mods are in), and a non-Texan running a hobby board for five or more escorts (Texas based or not) is also in violation--though it will be more difficult to prosecute her/him, as long as s/he stays out of Texas. But if s/he ever enters Texas for any reason, all bets are off.

Post 8,9 and 10 are spot on!! Gotta be creative with a little discretionary caution thrown in. People go on vacations, travel to see friends and family and ask for advice on hidden attractions usually only known to the local people.
