Legitimate customers; that is the point. Plausible deniability, in case one is seen by someone who knows one’s family or colleagues. Some nail salons are oriented toward male clientele.
It was, actually, my Significant Other who turned me on to getting my nails done, and getting massages in those silly chairs, at a nail place, now and then. Of course, when I go on my own, I go to places of my choosing, not her favored places.
My two former favorite places have closed, so I cannot advise anyone of a good place, for now. I am searching for recommendations, which is why I am reading this thread.
