Maybe it's my Protestant upbringing, but for me this scene is disturbing, not sexy. A prostitute steps in at the end of the scene to "redeem" Tom Cruise. You're led to believe that in return for his life she's later killed in a Satanic ritual.

The movie was worth seeing, although it's awfully slow (boring) in places. I'd contrast it with another Kubrick film, A Clockwork Orange, which was a lot more disturbing and a lot more entertaining.

Yes, Kubrik can be dark and disturbing, it's the interesting thing about art, that it moves different things inside people. Obviously I don't refer to satanic rituals, but to the concept of consensual sexual parties among the participants, in a safe and healthy aspect, I was originally talking that Killing Kittens organized this type of event and selected the type of people that attended doing interviews. But I do not know anyone who has actually attended these parties. It causes me a lot of curiosity.
