Default BBC-TV Hitchhikers Guide on Amazon Prime & Hulu!!!

Right now, the classic BBC TV version of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" is playing on both Amazon Prime and Hulu.

Anyone who's read Douglas Adams' classic 4+ book trilogy knows how incredibly funny this is. Of course, it was originally done as a BBC Radio play, but due to popularity, was published as a book, and eventually the BBC did the TV show, complete with awful 70's BBC (semi-)special effects that are so endearing.

For anyone who saw the big-budget movie without having first read the books, heard the radio show, or seen the TV series, and thought, "WTF was the big deal," here's your chance. The movie really was awful.

I honestly didn't think the movie was all that bad. I am sure he would have liked it.

Adams was in on the movie production.
He died in LA just as filming was beginning. He has sole credit for script writing and the various producers also gave him executive producer credit afterwards.

Yes a bit old style corny. But one of my fav movies. And I always have a towel when I go off planet.

I recorded the whole thing on VHS in the 80's when it aired on PBS.I'm sure the tape has disintegrated by now. One of my all time favorites! The movie just didn't do it for me.

Not a huge fan of the movie. In general BBC productions are superior adaptations from literature. IMNSHO.p

On a related note, I remember playing a video game by Douglas Adams about a deserted luxury space liner. Good game, but I don't think I ever finished it. Does it anybody remember the name of it and if it's still around in some form?
