AT LAST, Republican Senators stand up to Trump on the trade wars
Some Republican Senators are talking about legislation to block Trump from his plan to tax imports from Mexico at rates up to 25% if the Mexicans don't stop refugees and illegals from entering the USA. And for good reason. Not only is it bad for our economy, it's potentially self defeating if his goal is to stop the flow of illegal immigrants. You throw a lot of Mexicans on the unemployment rolls and what they going to do? Come to the USA to look for work.
Maybe we won't. With Trump out of town, Mike Pence and Mike Pompeo are in charge of the negotiations with the Mexicans today, and they, like many Republican Senators, recognize this for the bull shit that it is.

Is that right TINY...research before you post TINY!!
First 2 minutes: Lou Dobbs and Ed Rollins pointing out the Republicans senators have cover to give a gum job to national chamber of commerce goon, Tom Donahue and cronies...

I don't understand this. Dobbs and Mueller don't say anything about Tom Donahue. They condemn Republicans for not standing up for President Trump in the face of the Mueller Report and threats of impeachment. This is laughable. Every single one of the Republican Senators is squarely behind Trump on this. And 197 of the 198 House members are behind him too, as they should be. If Mueller indicted Trump for obstruction of the investigation of an imaginary crime it would be prosecutorial abuse.
If Dobbs and Rollins truly believe there should be no despicable opposition party, and the members of the ruling party should always praise the ground their Great Leader walks upon, maybe they should leave the United States of America. There are some Banana Republics out there that are more in line with what they want in a government.

Don’t you think it’s about time Congress addresses this crisis? Trump shouldn’t have to take things into his own hands. But Mexico did come to the table because of Trumps actions. Damn shame a foreign country has to step up to offer solutions instead of our Congress. At least Trump is trying. Pelosi wants him put in jail. It’s time for her to go to a retirement home.

Actually yes, I agree. Congress should provide the solution. All they have to do is have some kind of court system in place to decide these cases within a few days of when an immigrant is taken into custody. 90% or 95% or whatever will be shipped back to Central America because they’re not really refugees. When word gets around in Guatemala, etc., they’ll stop coming.
Democrat politicians think the immigrants will mostly vote for Democrats,
so they don’t want a solution.

Well, your title was misleading. The Republicans are standing up against Trump? They’re feckless bastards too. They had two years to do something on immigration and the ACA too. They folded like lawn chairs on both issues. In regards to China and this supposed “trade war”. Trumps the only POTUS to take them on. This is the 75th anniversary of D Day. We faced bigger challenges than slapping some tariffs on China. It will relatively painless for us in comparison to that. The Republicans should have Trumps back instead of standing up to him. Finally.

I can come up with an analogy that makes less sense than yours. Trump wants to start the Second World Trade War. We started the First World Trade War too, in the 1930's with the Smoot Hawley Tariff Act. History would have played out very differently if the German citizenry and generals had stood up to Hitler, the way Republican Senators are standing up to Trump.
I can get crazier, maybe comparing the Sudetenland to 5% tariffs on Mexico (Trump has no interest in stopping at 5%). Or if Trump gets his preferred solution with China, a bilateral trade agreement so he can pursue the trade wars with Europe and Japan unhindered, he'll probably turn on the Chinese like Hitler did on the Russians.
It's interesting how he timed this so the shit would hit the fan while he's gone from Washington because of D Day Memorials. Undoubtedly he wants people to think it's their patriotic duty to support his tariffs on Mexico.

I just heard a report today that the Mexican military and armed police just turned back a new caravan at their southern border. Maybe Mexico got the feeling that Trump wasn’t bluffing? AT LAST!!!!!!!!! Here’s an analogy to consider; 150,000 allied troops stormed Normandy. Last month, 145,000 illegals stormed our borders.

I hope you’re right, that this really is about immigration. If we get more cooperation from Mexico and there are no new tariffs, that will be a good outcome and I’ll be eating crow.
Tiny seems to be more worried about his stocks losing money than keeping illegals out of are country! playing the stock market is like gambling sometimes you win sometimes you lose

That and being shut off from a steady flow of Latin American cuties at Chicas Locas and XTC who will do anything for $100. Diversity is important in the stripper population.
Except for a few crony capitalists everybody loses in a trade war.
