Unless you're buying a table, others have said it's seating in back. Somewhat underwhelming. Showtime does a program on the awards every year if you want to see what it's like.
The two areas that tend to not be overpriced are the red carpet before and just at the start of the show (cause you know people show up late) and the after parties. The private after parties are a bitch to find and get access. The ones that have a cover tend to be overpriced and have less going on than you think. Outside of the expo and award show, hanging out at the casino bars is always interesting and you might get invited to a party (HRH usually but the strip casino bars get action too). Providers might have some insight into some of the after parties so you might look into that.
As the casinos have dress guidelines to keep their licenses, they like shirts/shoes, no nudity (for women, it means to keep your areola 100% covered (pasties are popular)). AEE and AVN awards push the boundaries but casino and gaming control people will ask you to leave if it crosses the line.
