Four thousand years ago northeastern Africa had maybe the most advanced civilization in the world. The so called white "master race" in northern Europe was primitive by comparison. Considering homo sapiens has been around for 300,000 years, four thousand years is nothing. Actually we're all descended from Africans, as that's where the first humans evolved.
You could take an infant from sub Saharan Africa who's had good prenatal care and place him with a good family in a first world country, and he'd have just as good a chance of doing well as any other adopted child.

I agree, completely. If Africa ever gets on the right track, it could grow GDP per capita at 4% a year. You do that in, say, Nigeria for 70 years and its people would be as wealthy as Americans are now.
