it does look a lot like a FW 190.

the reason the plane has German insignia is because it was part of a Cali based WWII aircraft group similar to the "Confederate Air Force".

The Confederate Air Force was forced to yield to the PC crowd. It's now the "Commemorative" Air Force. And they don't put German markings on American planes.

Just a little side story.. I was once playing golf at Bear Creek golf course in west Houston. There is a little airport next to it across HWY 6 that the confederate Air Force used for their events. That particular day day there was a forest fire going On and the smoke was flowing across the golf course.

I remember teeing off on #14 with a cloud off smoke and 2 Japanese Zeroes flying low over the fairway. I thought I was in the twilight zone at Pearl Harbor.
