Default Vaginal rates of HIV transmission

I found the link below interesting. The relevant statistic is the following:
“The authors concluded that the average male to female risk of HIV transmission is .07 - .08% per vaginal sex act (which, in a large study, would mean approximately 7-8 cases of transmission for every 10,000 acts of unprotected vaginal sex) if there was no receptive anal intercourse”

So on average, you would have to have unprotected vaginal sex over a 1000 times with someone who had HIV to contract HIV. If you had unprotected sex with an HIV positive person once a week, that would take 20 years. Given that less than 0.5% of the people in Austin are HIV positive, and given that I am 60 and once a week is very optimistic, I don’t think I have much to worry about at this point.

A good friend of mine had sex with a girl, the first time in years without a cover on, and got the HIV. It only takes once. Cover up. He new her too, thought she was safe.

There are a lot of factors that come in to play. It is harder for men to contract HIV from vaginal intercourse than it is for women. Another benefit of being a man since our organs are more protected than a ladies. For a guy you would have to have a tear in your urethra to increase your chances. For women (especially in this profession) little micro tears in the vagina from constant intercourse (dryness, condoms rubbing, etc.) makes it a lot easier and more risky for them.
The best suggestion I have for everyone is to invest in and practice using female condoms. They are fucking amazing and no stranglehold of the condom on your cock.

Ok Cowboy. Here in Texas, use a saddle when riding your horse. The sore butt you'll get from bare backing will keep you from enjoying sex.

A good idea would be to have bareback sex with people who don't have STDs lol. The majority of people here are barebacking someone whether it be their boyfriends or their wives. If someone agree's to go bare with you make sure they are regularly tested and do what feels right.

The vast majority of hookers are not married, don't have boyfriends and don't date so they are safer than most.

"I have read that escorts are for companionship only. (I'm guessing companionship is talking and maybe holding hands.) Low chance of STDs from that."

However, if your escort has tuberculosis, and she coughs up in your face, you've got problems.

Ditto: Regarding the female condom. Use them and supply them. Also insert them for the ladies who are FC newbies. Wouldn't take BBFS if it was offered ever.

Very interesting that no ladies have commented. I like my odds staying low so always wear a rain coat.

Gonna live forever are you?
Most guys on this site are a few years from checkout, why are you so worried about something that’s coming anyway?

The way those averages work is that you can have B.B. sex 1,000 times and not catch anything, or once and be one of the 7 or 8. A condom is a very small price to pay to ensure a safe encounter for both him and her.

^^ agree! But most don’t care about other person. Most of guys only think in moment it is all about them. No thought process on how others can be hurt
