The "info" is my opinion based on how few people I've seen comment negatively on the DeSantis comment. So far it has been Gillum and Terry Rizzo, head of the Florida DNC who have criticized the comment. But I haven't tuned into CNN since it happened.

Obviously the news is going to go where the story is. There is no story when someone says there is nothing to it.

Gillum should have taken the high road and not made a racial thing out of it in my opinion.

Yeah Gillum should have taken the high road but being that he's a liberal and a socialist, he COULDN'T ..... he figured it better to sling mud by throwing the first shot and let the networks run with the story ..... even though it's obvious those reporting the story had no clue of what the term "monkeyed up" means, they just needed an excuse to scream "racist!" .....

Your reactions indicate as much.
It was either stupid or subtly clever, knowing it isn't racial but the left wingers would jump all over it.

Maybe they played into his hands - he can reasonably claim it isn't racial, but all the white rednecks will remember to vote for him to keep the other guy out of office, because the left wingers just reminded them they are nothing more than white trash, despised by the liberal elite.

I would add an insult at this juncture but with respect to your fine intellect and friendly demeanor, I will abstain.

It's NOTHING. But when that's all one has .... "play it"!

Personally, I wasn't even aware the Democrats had a viable Black candidate for the Governorship in Florida. They still don't!

I suspect when the "dust" settles this may be one of those "basket of deplorables" moments in his candidacy. He's not only "monkeyed" up the election over there, he's made a "mountain out of a mole hill"!

He had an opportunity to make a statement that could show some class and a desire to engage the real issues in Florida over the next couple of months thereby reflecting his maturity and sincerity in leading Florida forward into the bright future Floridians have before them. Instead he chose the slop bucket of politics that has infested this country in the past couple of decades.

Did he actually trash-talk about Trump in Florida?

Aren't you a regional thing?

Lately the "mainstream" media has been creating "the story."

Several "personalities" took this one to the next floors below.

Yes, DeSantis should have known of the deranged mind of the socialist left. They will use any means necessary whether imaged or real to DESTROY their opponent. They sure can't win on issues/ideas, IMHO.

I would not be surprised if the left attempts to make "Monkey" the new "M" WORD.

that black candidate was a long shot to win the race. he wasn't even supposed to win it. he beat out other favored democrats. He really was a dark horse candidate.

Dims have been recorded monkeying around with the verb "monkey" more than once through the years.
