Default Final Roster 2018-2019 To Start Season

Projected Starting Line...

Dejounte Murray

Bench

Patty Mills

Honestly...this team looks hell of a lot better than what we had last year. Can't wait to see them on the floor.

I watched some of Pondexter's highlights ..... he can hit the 3 ball from the corner, can penetrate to the basket with authority, and can get the pass to the open man, great team player whose career has been derailed by knee injuries ..... if he's healthy now he could be a good fit and role player ..... besides, he must be a REALLY good player, since his uniform number is 20 ..... with a little tongue-in-cheek humor is it any coincidence that the Spurs waited until uniform #20 became available before they signed Pondexter? ..... probably not, but the Spurs probably used the money they would have paid Manu this season to sign Pondexter .....

Nice post Gauge. We should run Spurs talk radio.

They had Pon lined up if Manu didnt sign. This signing reminds me of Terry Porter, Finley, and Robert Horry. Spurs killers. Could have good dividends on this squad. Backup lineup is a D killer with him, Cunningham, and Davis. Led by Mills and Marco. Should be fun.

Late in games run Aldridge, Gay, Pon, DeRozan and Marco. Remember Tim, Horry, Bowan, Barry and Manu in 05? In todays league, our new guys can switch everything and play well on offense.

As you stated earlier, like you I can't wait to see this team on the floor, and how Pop uses them in certain matchups, and who he plays where ..... I know better than to set my expectations too high, but with all the new faces I am genuinely excited, surely the offense will be a bit different .....I think Pop will center the offense around DeRozan and Aldridge and again, as you stated, the defense on this team could be better than expected ..... and yeah, Spurs talk radio could be fun! .....

Time to ditch the isolation hero ball that became the primary offense as Kawhi developed and go back to the beautiful game cutting and ball movement of 2014.

Default Official Goodbye to the Biggest 3 in SA

Espn as well as a great Manu compilation has created some great content to remember and look back on this unique group of Spurs. What created the beautiful game, hopefully plants itself for the future.

I'm excited for the season to start. I'm in SA until the 10th, so I'm hoping to catch at least one pre-season game. Spurs have been my 2nd favorite team for as long as I can remember.

FROM LAST YEARS SUPER-THREAD

MY RESPONSE
I believe the problem isn't the players; it's the COACH.

Murray's STRENGTH is his SPEED but with too many bigs, you've got a race-horse with a bunch of barn animals.

Look at the most recent "all-star" game: Aldridge had ZERO points and not many minutes WHY? Because the game has evolved from the days when bigs like dave, tim, olajuwan, etc. ruled the paint with their size and strength. Shaq couldn't shoot a free throw with a shot-gun but he wanted to DOMINATE you (and he did). The guy was a BEAST.

One of pop's most famous quotes is "we don't worry about other teams." Well, while he and buford were busy not worrying, the rest of the league passed the franchise by.

And I'm starting to think Kawhi won't stay - he's got no help. They are going to wear the guy out having to play 100% at both ends. And besides, what good is ONE defender against the likes of the warriors and rockets?

And speaking of the rockets, compare/contrast them vs Spurs. Houston KNEW GS was THE team to beat so they go out and get a run-n-gun coach and built their team accordingly. We signed patty mills for $50 million...

Now Pop says they are "ready to run."
