bro,
we're living in a new world now due to FOSTA
many providers on Twitter, even the
'upscale' crowd that advertise on Eros and such, tweeted that their business has gone down at least
60% this year. many
veteran providers have also said that this year is their slowest year ever in terms of business...
a provider friend of mine was evicted this week and is now struggling to make ends meet. another provider friend of mine slept in her own car for a few days during
her tour. one other friend needed shelter early month but was low on funds
(i was able to help get them a room. thank goodness)
it's not the good 'ole days anymore. can't just get a room and hope for money and post ads on Backpage since BP was always there to save the day
nope, those days are gone. again,
we're living in a new world now.
The Erotic Review was my #1, but it went bye-bye for us in the USA
(TER might not be coming back anyways after they were labeled a co-conspirator in the newest indictment against Backpage).
so yeah, you know like that one escort website you posted on today might be gone tomorrow since many website owners don't want to take the heat from this new legislation
so, of course many providers are looking to find more reputable websites to market their services just in case when one goes dark, they'll still be seen on another website
website shutdowns aren't the only reason a provider might witch hunt for ads...
providers can also get banned from platforms.
recently, Eros has become more aggressive with their ambiguous bans.
so, when a provider gets banned from a profitable website such as Eros, are they suddenly doing it
"wrong" when they're left scrambling and posting while hoping to get business???
No.
Again, Eros is cutting off providers much more aggressively this past month. Even those who've been advertising on their website for years!
More Eros bans here
so, these banned providers now have to come up with plans to find another profitable website; however, the way the escort advertising climate looks right now is pretty fucking tumultuous.
providers are now surrounded by new websites trying hard to be the new Backpage, websites that look promising but no business, websites closing off their USA section of
escorts, shady websites sending us emails
to
'confirm' our account when we never signed up in the first place, scraper sites, etc.
so, it's insensitive to tell providers that they're doing it
"wrong" when many of them are just barely
getting by while also maintaining/building their brand. Especially during these horrific times....
