That is so sad. I cannot believe that the Nigerian Scam (also known as a “4-1-9” or “Advance Fee Fraud” scheme) are still rampant. I guess that they change it up enough to still fool people. Thanks for sharing.

Considering the embryonic 419 scam ("The Spanish prisoner") goes back to the 18th century, and the modern version of the con dates to 1922 or so, I'm confident that the 419 con and evolved versions of the same will be around until the heat death of the universe.

Cheers,

bcg

Yeah I tried to sale a couch on there and got plenty of similar scams. A big scam right now is the IRS scam. I like fucking with the fraudsters when I got time. Sometimes I just waste their time. Say some freaky shit to em or whatever.

^^^Yeah, I try to keep them on the phone as long as I can, playing along with whatever scam they've got going. Eventually they figure out what is going on and lose their shit. Which makes it even more fun. What can I say. Retired and bored.

Unfortunately, they're still around because they work.

You can make them trip over themselves it's hilarious just keep asking them there name, number & name of supervisor they get so flustered trying to remember which # they called you from.

My spam box on one of my emails is full of 'Nigerian Princes' or 'Solicitors from England' that I quit paying any attention to what's in there anymore.

Recently, I've received calls asking for someone that's never lived here. In fact, my phone number was a new number, never used. So, if you get a call asking for someone that's never been there and they have a recorded message that you (the strange name) is being sued, grab a good whistle and use it.

Seems to keep them from calling back.

I love the Microsoft techs.

I am an I.T. Director

They called the wrong guy

I kept one guy on the phone for an hour.
Made a honey pot on my VMware server and had them login to it.

Any time he would reboot it it would re-image the machine and he would start from scratch. He had no fucking clue what was going on.

It was geek humor but it was funny as fuck

The one time I had IRS scammers I would call back and ask for a blowjob. After the third time their number was no longer active.

I've done the counter bell thing and the fire alarm thing. Highly amusing.
