Did you actually understand what OverTime was babbling about?
"sane enforcement" and "funding-for-such" .... ?
1. Beef up the perimeters of the school grounds
2. Install metal detectors at doors with clear bags/backpacks.
3. Fire anyone who lets anyone come onto the school property without being identified and searched (electronically/physically)
4. Have no less than three officers at all times when staff and students are on the campus grounds ... with extensive training on "covering" the building and responding to threats on the property with equipment/tools to respond to various levels of threat.
5. zero weapon policy. You bring it you're gone.
6. Plenty of warning signage ... with symbols.
If that sounds like government buildings or airports ... duh!
If you really want to know where we are at in this country with regard to this firearm and school safety "stuff" ...
.. go back to 1996 and look at Al Gore's report to Bill Clinton on "air line safety"!
In those days there was a discussion about "hardening" cockpit doors etc. and securing the cockpit area prior to gate departure until return to the next gate.
The recommendations were NOT IMPLEMENTED as a mandate, because it was too expensive!
How expensive was 911?
How expenses IS IT with this students who survived, the families of the victims, and the surrounding investigations etc. etc. ... with all this hand wringing.
Debating about what is an AR-15 ... is entertaining ... debating about banning them is about as entertaining ... if they ban and pick up every one of them this year .... next year it will be a "BS-21" ... or a Presto Pressure Cooker!
