Default Trump builds a better rat trap and DACA is the bait.

The rats in question; Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Dick Durbin.

What have these three been going on about? Amnesty or near amnesty (real amnesty would come later0 for millions of illegal aliens. They created a wedge called the dreamers. Innocent children (average age now 22 years) brought into the United States by their parents. They beat their chests, pulled at their clothes and beseeched the universe to allow them to stay. Okay, Trump comes along and creates a moving target but one thing is solid; border security. The democrats hate border security for some reason but they do. After playing this game in public with the government shutdown which was supposed to demonstrate that the democrats were willing to hurt the country and national security for the dreamers. Wow! Whose side are the democrats on? Anyway, Trump comes out and says that 1.8 million dreamers can stay (yeah! shout the rank and file democrats and dreamers) but the democrats have to sign on to ending chain migration (very unpopular program according to polling), the visa lottery (a very unpopular program) and to building the border wall. The democrats get what they want (at least what they've been saying they want) and Trump gets what he wants. A win-win. So now what do the democrats do? They oppose Trump's plan and call it racist. I'm sure that the dreamers don't agree with that. The democrats are publicly willing to throw away the future of the dreamers for keeping some very unpopular programs and a wall that the democrats say will never get built. Damned if they do and damned if they don't. DACA was the cheese and the democRATS are the perps.

I may not agree with Trump in principal but it will the Congress that sets the rules according to the Constitution. They can make these dreamers citizens in six years, ten years, or twenty years. Big thing (like Jerusalem) it takes this off the table as a wedge issue for the democrats and it's all Trump.

what's the issue with the visa lottery that they want to get rid of?

I don't have a problem with the visa lottery concept as its a way random way for people from different countries to come here via the qouta system.

There is nothing wrong with the visa lottery system you are right. You need to understand, Trump and his cronies would like to end immigration period except for letting in white people that they will choose based on things like , do you hate people of colors and look upon women as second class citizens, you answer yes you get in. Thank god the democrats and moderate republicans will not let this happen.

I have no problem with getting rid of chain migration. I'm not sure if your statement calling the visa lottery "a very unpopular program" is true. It is very unpopular among Trump and is supporters for sure. From what I've read, doing away with the program will be helpful to highly skilled people from India. Yes, I agree that the visa lottery does not favor "the best and the brightest". It gives fairly average people who want to come to this country to live the American dream a step up.

And as others have mentioned, the border wall is a very unpopular idea according to polling. Weren't we promised time after time after time that Mexico was going to pay for the wall and American taxpayers would not foot the bill?

I'm sure we are going to throw open our doors to educated people from China and from predominantly Muslim countries in Asia. As I stated, doing away with the lottery will benefit people primarily from India. I'm sure that that fact will not make many on the right very happy. Maybe if doing away with the lottery got more people from Norway into the U.S.???

Just pointing out to your ignorant ass that you are an overly indoctrinated jackass, speedy. Wretching Madcow has you and your ilk wrapped around her lib-retarded finger, speedy. You and your ilk ignore the full text of what was actually said and hyperventilate about an out of context remark just like she told you to, speedy.

Trump then suggested that the United States should instead bring more people from countries such as Norway, whose prime minister he met with Wednesday. The president, according to a White House official, also suggested he would be open to more immigrants from Asian countries because he felt that they help the United States economically.

This is why the left and the right aren't talking. No one said anything about race and you have to make the charge of racism. So much for an intelligent conversation.
As to your charge, I'd love to have some college grads and post grad citizens coming here to make the country (and world) a better place. I don't care if they come from Nigeria, India, Italy, or South Korea as long as they want to be in the USA and want to be citizens.
