Newbie Reviews

Hi all interesting subject we have here....I'll probably get flamed for posting here and not in introductions. Truth is I have on several occasions thought I'd post a review but after seeing so many in flames have yet to do so....I am not new by any means to the "Hobby" just new to this site...I have seen a overzealous review or two but I have seen way more of guys being flamed by not posting a link or having a date wrong...all else that I have to say is go easy on this old new guy when he does post his first review....

It's a good point. I expect that most of us that have done reviews have undergone that to one degree or another. I think constructive criticism is fine but it should be done tactfully and thoughtfully, not by flames or rude comments.

I pay little attention to newbie reviews - and yeah, like everyone else here, I used to be one too. They may have lots of dates for comparison purposes but I have no way of knowing that. If the lady is pretty new and reviewed by a newbie, red flags to me unless I know she is totally legit. If she's well established, either I have seen her myself and/or she has been reviewed by guys who have some credibility with me, not a newbie.

But I use the same script with newbie ladies. I will never be the first one in. Until a lady has several reviews by guys I have some level of trust in, I wait, regardless of how interested I might be. There is some needed discipline here if you want to keep your ass out of potential trouble. And many times I will reach out to established guys that have written reviews on a newer lady to get their insights outside of the glare of the public areas of this board. That has served me well on several occasions and is truly what this board is supposed to be about - information exchange.
