Sex: the drug of choice
So I'm a combat veteran, career Army Airborne with severe PTSD and I've been seeing a therapist for some time. The subject of sex comes up in our sessions and I realize that I'm not sex crazed or just a perv, but I finally figured out that it has become a "drug of choice" to combat my condition. I find the experience to be a full on way to combat the very horrible feelings that PTSD can give.
When cash is available, I have seeked female companionship not just to get off, but for the feelings that foreplay gives. I masturbate daily as well to receive the euphoric feeling that orgasms bring.
So gents and ladies what's your reasoning for the hobby and back story.

Hey Raemonj
Thanks for sharing those personal details. I am a fellow vet - fortunate not to have PTSD. But finding a healthy way to deal with it sounds good to me. Credit to you Bud and thanks for your service to all of us

Same here. PTSD. First alcohol, then pain killers, now sex. There's no denying it. Probably the lesser evil of the 3 but until I'm ready to confront my problems I'll choose sex over any of the other ones. Also, I have an addictive personality which doesn't really help at all.

I’m with you, but I had a couple nasty concussions. But I was chasing pussy before them.

raemonj,
I also have chosen sex as the drug of choice. I hesitated to call it an addiction for some time. I had a constant need for sex, the chase (when sw was my thing) or the online hunt, or strip clubs, or civis. I found that stress triggered it. I also found that when I felt good, that it was a trigger. Neon signs were a trigger. Hot dresses, hot legs, nice eyes...etc. You get the picture, it was a spiraling hole. Alcohol triggered it. As did any other substance. It was always about sex and the hot women. As with most addictions that I found myself with (smoking, drinking, porn), I quit. Just walked away and stopped chasing street girls and all.
Then I realized as I got old and fat and tired of life that those things I gave up were the only fun things there are to do on this rock and I wished I had never quit and maybe I wouldn't have gotten old and fat and tired of life. So, I'm back.

I am shy and new, I love the rush of this hobby. My gf Lexxxy gave me sound advice about it. She said if the rush and the fun of the hobby leaves me I should leave the hobby. It makes sense, we should all enjoy what we do here or we have no business being here.

I love sex, and I enjoy the money.
I'm addicted to being able to control my own income and life.
it's empowering and that in itself is the greatest turn on about being in this thing of ours.

I’ve watched porn for decades and I wanted to try everything I saw..... my wife doesn’t like to touch my dick and won’t even give a blowjob.

Well we got some good responses from my thread, I like it. I have started enjoying my life again, because of my acceptance of my drug of choice. I'm on meds for the PTSD as well, but accepting my marital situation and my military memories life has become not too bad.
I absolutely love pleasing a woman, maybe if I was younger and had all my hair LOL I should be a provider. It's funny how I get off doing everything I can to make the gal I'm with get off. I have a job that keeps me in shape and started a 16/8 fasting schedule as well, I'm thinking as we men like a good looking gal to be with, they also would appreciate a fit body from me to enjoy as well. Now if we could just work on the whole military discount for the hobby.....

Another vet here. Have you tried weed? I’m not asking if you’ve ever smoked, but rather have you tried smoking for PTSD? Some of these modern strains can do wonders for PTSD, without making you tired. PTSD is one of the approved conditions for medical mj in PA. The Squirrell Hill dispensary should be open in Feb or March.

I'm an old Pot head from back in the late 70's early 80's, but in my work, weed is a no go. Perhaps down the road they will make changes.
Alcohol and sex either alone or with a partner have been the norm form many a fucked up combat vet and/or active duty soldier for that matter since the beginning of time.
