You're a liar, green weenie. Check out the social media and read the posts, green weenie. Too many of those who are supporting this BS protest are disowning the National Anthem because it was "written by a slave-owner." They further disavow that the U.S. has advanced their interests one iota by claiming that no one in "YOUR..wars" died for "THEM" ... they're too fucking ignorant to remember that the 54th Mass., and others like them, did fight and die under the Stars and Stripe to advance their fucking interests.
Damn if there ain't an ignorant bunch of fucks on the far-left.
One jackass even made claim that Malcolm X, rather than any soldier, was a real hero who "died for their cause". Forget the mutha fucking fact that Malcolm X was assassinated by Farrakhan's Nation of Islam followers: other black men!
And the bout of protests this past weekend was mostly anti-Trump and nothing fucking else, green weenie. What a pathetic bunch of lemmings.

How often do you deal with this in your personal circle? I always wonder how many relationships have been severed among the people I come across.

We live in bible belt country.... God, more god, country, more country, don't mess with Texas.etc.
No relationships have been severed. We are 1000% more respectful than this board in our debates if the topic does come up. And are graceful in our criticism.

I'm not sure what social media posts you mean. Could you link an example, please?
CK met with a fellow NFL player who was a Army vet. The Army vet vouched for CK's support of our troops. The vet, while angered initially by the protest, came away completely supporting CK. He would not kneel himself but understood CKs position.

And your point ... is?
I'm waiting for the fans to start their "protest," but not holding my breath for it. If the players don't like being called "sons of bitches," then they should quit "bitching" and .... PLAY BALL! Reminds me of the panty-waisters on here whining about Trump. Cry babies ... or is head injuries?

My point was to show that while, IB claims my assertion that the players supported our troops is false, my assertion isn't baseless.

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way." - Colin Kaepernick
This neither states nor implies that no one died for them. It states and implies, in very simple terms, that he is (and the many who have joined him are) protesting racism. So, insisting that said protest is a betrayal to dead soldiers implies they actually died to keep racism going. And that is a slap in the face to every person who has ever served, dead or living.

Actually, my general observation is both "sides" have over exaggerated the opposite sides "status" and "position" with respect to attempting to paint the opposing participants with an ALL ENCOMPASSING BRUSH while at the same time apparently "ASSUMING" they can read the opposition participants' minds as a collective body with the consequence of spending a lot of time on NOTHING!
The 1/2 dozen players refusing to respect the U.S. Flag and NATIONAL ANTHEM were wrong to express their protest in that manner and Trump was wrong for using the word "son of a bitch" to refer to them in a public speech.
Both have "the right" to do and say what they did, but that doesn't make it CORRECT. This country has more important things to focus upon that will have a more lasting effect on our future.
The like some of the petty bullshit and name-calling on in here, this country will be consumed with crybabies whining because their candidate didn't win and will expend their energy and resources in trying to fuck up Trump's presidency like the little shit in the aisle at the grocery store who is screaming and kicking on the floor because he doesn't get "his candy"!
Then there are ignorant juveniles like AssUp who have no life and so they have "no dog in the hunt," but just want to annoy those who do.
What a goal he has in life(sarcasm)?
There are sharks in the waters off Galveston Beach and North and South of there biting people, but he'd rather rant and rage about pics and the proper name of the Galveston Tourist Bureau ... He's a petty old worthless piece of shit, and now he's whining about the forum being a "ghost town" ... .he's turned into a pigsty.

... while calling 100% of the nonBlack citizens the U.S. racists!
That's insulting and a lie. And it's insulting because it is a lie.

And was supported in doing so by goodell and all the rest. ALL THE WHILE the NFL Cramped down on teams wanting to show SUPPORT for cops..

But how is taking a knee at a sports event, and dishonoring the flag, when you are escorted in and given protection BY COPS, protesting "police brutality"?
THAT IS WHTA i don't understand about this whole malarkey.

I posted it's a lie, because it is a lie.
And what you posted is also a lie.
"a country that oppresses black people and people of color" ...
The United States of America does NOT ...
...."oppress black people and people of color"!
And those standing their like a gaggle of overpaid juveniles prove it's a lie.....just as false a narrative as when some of those same overpaid juveniles held their hands in air pretending like they were going to be shot by police.

Protesting racism addresses racism. It literally points no fingers at anyone who is not a racist.

No flags or anthems were hurt by protests of racism. Only people pretending to care about them.

To put it mildly.

As in the entire country? You didn't actually take that literally.
