Why is there some bizarre assumption that we pay no taxes? I pay them every year just like everybody else.

You can get by only for so long avoiding taxes, but you can never own anything, have retirement savings, have credit or finance anything without paying taxes. What is the point of earning good money if all you can use it for is to eat at restaurants and buy clothes because you have to hide your spending? The only thing you can do with your money is burn it if you don't pay taxes.

Paying taxes is a small fee compared to the returns you get on being able to actually use your money, especially if you take advantage of as many deductions as possible, as well as tax free investment accounts.

You must think we are all completely stupid. ECCIE2NDAVE, I seriously cannot roll my eyes any further into my head.

If FEMA and LE merged, would its officers all pee sitting down?

A co-worker of mine went online to FEMA.gov and filled out the forms online. He had minor roof damage that leaked and got his ceiling wet compared to those that lost everything. He received a call within hours to schedule someone to come out. It seems to be a very rapid process. Try it out

Yes I do !!!!!!!! In fact I have a business license registered with the state of Louisiana.
Not all providers are dummies, some of us actually save the cash /cc's we receive from generous gentlemen to buy houses and save for retirement. Just like any job.

So please don't ASSume all of us don't pay taxes. Also please don't ASSume that providers who lost their houses/apt's in Harvey, don't need assistance.

Broad statement, with little facts. SMH

Amen #Sister, preach to the choir, because someone sure doesn't know all of the facts on every provider as well as he thinks he does.

Smart women pay taxes, and save for retirement. Childish women spend all of their money on frivolous items without a dime to show for when it is all said and done. LOL
If ya' don't know you better ask somebody.

YOU may just need that Gov't. assistance 1 day, so rethink that statement. During Katrina, I took all the assistance that was given to help me rebuild a life in FW. TX.
That is also including FEMA which was Gov't. assistance that I was legally entitled to because I worked all my life RWJ's and needed it.

I have paid taxes all my life, and whatever I was eligible for I took. No shame here.

So who are you to look down upon others?? Why don't you and Joel Osteen go have 2 seats please.
