Default Starting Over

I am very thankful to be alive and safe. I live in Pasadena as most of you know and we were hit very hard by Harvey. Me and my children had to be rescued and we are extremely grateful some friends took us in and let us stay with them for now.
During Harvey we lost everything. We had just moved into a new place 2 days before and then Harvey showed up.
I am extremely thankful to the people who have contacted me to check on me and make sure I am ok.
Many have asked how to help and send money to help. I decided to set up a Go Fund Me account so y'all can donate if you wish to.
Any money raised will go towards basic necessities and help us find a new place to live.
I've never had to ask for help before so this is all new to me. But I appreciate anything.
Any questions feel free to ask. I will be able to go assess damage later today at our home to see what is next.
I hope everyone is safe and doing well. I thank God I'm alive and my kids are alive cause it could of been a lot worse.

Go to the FEMA web site and go from there. Some of these fucktard knuckleheads will expect free sessions for donating to the fund and will hassle you forever for it.

He's correct. FEMA, the Red Cross, and the Salvation Army can be invaluable resources starting from scratch after a disaster. (Been there, done that, so talking from experience.) Be persistent and patient. The procedures and paperwork can be daunting, but well-worth the effort in the long run. Apply for everything!

Sincere Irish luck and best wishes in this trying time, Alexis. As long as you and your family are healthy and together, you WILL get though this!

Lone star legal aid can help you sort out everything.

It is also more productive to go to a shelter and fill out the FEMA app in person VS. online.

Take lots of pictures of your damaged house and contents. Then email them to yourself right away to establish a time line.

Hope all turns out well.

Sure, even though FEMA & other organizations will help, it's gonna be a while due to so many people in need.

So I personally think a gofundme account will be a huge help now, right now.

Wishing you all the best.

Sorry you are going through this girl. We all have been greatly impacted by Harvey. Hang in there! There is always a rainbow 🌈 after a storm.

I'm sorry but I've (I have) seen this too many times not to finally say something. "Did you have to do that now?" Yes.

Luke 6:21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.

Proverbs 15:13 - A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

Laughter releases stress, improves your mood, boosts immunity and can even relieve pain.

Of course God's humor is never cruel the way humans twist it to be at times. In fact, God is entirely pure and untainted, thus so is his humor.
