where did you read about? who ever wrote that article was misinformed.
there won't be any explosions or collisions (there might be some collisions if stars/planets are on the same path) do the massive amount of space between stars & planets and the effects of gravity would be factor. theres also the possibility of stars & planets being ejected from the system & galaxy.
what is likely is that the center of both galaxies will collide.

Even Algore admits Paris accord is worthless...

"Gore on symbolic UN Paris Pact:
CHRIS WALLACE: “You would agree that even if all 195 nations, now 194, met their targets, it still wouldn’t solve the problem.”
AL GORE: “That is correct. However, it sends a very powerful signal to business and industry and civil society, and countries around the world.”

That was already known. Jesus.
Stopping our dependency on oil would give this country a huge leg up. It would basically decapitate Russia and the Middle East. Putin is puppeteering Trump as are oil players here. You thing the Tillison was happen stance?
http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/opinio...z&ocid=U221DHP
it doesn’t make sense to do all that for a small group of coal miners and roughnecks and low-information voters who could be swayed in the next election with some voter suppression or targeted fake news and misleading ads.
But it does make sense to do all that—and more—for powerful corporate entities and superwealthy multinational businessmen who can make or break him financially, and probably every other way it is possible to break a fragile, endangered politician like Trump.
What the Great Paris Pullout actually reveals is Trump’s true base. They are known colloquially as “The Yacht People,” and they are very unlike the men and women who show up at Trump rallies. They don the red hat only for laughs.
Billionaires like Carl Icahn and the Koch Brothers (who supposedly loathe Trump but are getting exactly what they have been working at for decades) and their Russian oligarch analogs can’t wait for the administration to gut climate and pollution regulations at home and abandon international sanctions abroad so they can get back to the business of drilling and selling crude oil and other fossil fuels unfettered by the “losers” in the bureaucracy.
Trump’s real base has the power and money to peddle to the gullible false information about helping the working class while advancing what Daniel Drezner calls its Hobbesian world-view. Thomas Hobbes was an English political philosopher who advocated a strong central state, and painted a picture of human life that is “nasty, brutish and short,” in the ungoverned, stateless world.
Ripping up a global climate agreement fulfills the “wildest dreams” of the feudal princes of modernity. By the time Trump’s “base” catches on to what he’s doing for his real base—a handful of millionaires and billionaires with short-term gains in mind—everyone except The Yacht People could well be underwater.

he's talking about Andromeda, it's projected as a direct collision of the centers. mainly because both have supermassive black holes. certainly there will be some damage. but this has happened before without destroying the merging galaxies.
interestingly, the Milky Way is absorbing a dwarf galaxy right now. Our size tends to give us the upper hand here, little impact to the Milky Way. Andromeda on the other hand is about twice as large as the Milky way
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Androm..._Way_collision
if you watch the simulation it looks far worse than it likely will be. and the two galaxies could glance by each other too.
here's the night sky now ..
here's what it might be 4 billion years from now
regardless, this isn't a concern any time soon for Earth. it's estimated to be 4 billion years in the future by most estimates. that's about the same time frame the Sun will exhaust its hydrogen fuel and expand to a red giant. the Sun doesn't have the stellar mass to go Nova. too small. even still, Earth will have its atmosphere burned off.
anyone seeing that view on Earth will be wearing a spacesuit or more likely from a space ship.

WTF,
Quite a few big businesses endorsed the Paris Accords, not the least of which was Exxon. You don't need to believe in grand Machavellian conspiracies or turn the climate issue into a fight between classes to understand why.
Climate change would be an expensive ordeal. People with large business holdings don't want to eat those costs. But there's a lot of short term interest in ignoring the problem and gulling the rubs into Rolling Coal for the lulz, so you can win another election cycle.
Republicans don't give a shit about public policy. This isn't a well-thought-out power grab. It doesn't really benefit anyone, save the handful of political elites in the most recent election cycle. It's all about keeping the hookers and blow coming for one more year.
Folks on this board are blowing up, because they're uneducated and uninterested in the subject matter. They don't care about Paris, save that they get to claim they are winning. They don't have a stake in the long term health of the nation.
That's what this whole fight is really about.
Do we plan long term? Do we conserve limited resources?
Or do we just go out - Ja Rule style - in a blaze of idiocy?
Trump's picking the idiots route, in defiance of a lot of people with investments they don't plan to bankrupt on.

What would decapitate Russia and the Middle East is producing more of our own oil and other resources which is what Trump is all about. Makes their oil worth less. There is history on that fact. What you don't understand at all is world markets.

The fuck I don't. We can do both. Unless of course you think we have an endless supply of oil.
One is forward thinking , the other is right now. Low info voters are all about right now.
Just like you numbnuts think it a good idea to pull out of something that coat you nothing. This was like dating not being married. You could walk away at anytime and it not cost you anything.
Trump, Syria and Nicaragua. It was stupid to walk away from a leadership standpoint.
Just like it was stupid of him to tweet about Qutar.

This statement alone tells me you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. The US is already into it to the tune of one billion dollars with the promise of billions more. It's cut your losses time!
If there's no cost, why is Bloomberg willing to pony up 15 million...

We could have still stayed in and not paid the 15 million you numbnutted retard. Do you understand they had no teeth. If we didn't pay, that didn't kick us out.
Keep asking question you think you know the answers to.

In that case then, Obama was an idiot for forking over the one billion, the whole thing is useless, and Trump was right for pulling out.

Obama may have been foolish for forking over a billion but Trump was idiotic for giving up a seat at the table.

When Odumbo said "97% of the scientists", he lied. When Gore said the the North Pole would be completely melted by 2014, he lied. Take your lib-retard lies and shove them in your ice-hole, houstonhobo.

yes, I know he was talking about the Andromeda galaxy.
actually, the milky way is absorbing 2 dwarf galaxies. one of them is inside the milky way.
read the wiki link you provided.
the scientists offer 2 predictions on the Andromeda-milky way merger
- the sun would get close to the center of the galaxy before being ejected from the galaxy.
- the entire solar system will get ejected from the galaxy after the merger without much disruption.
pretty interesting.

no one believes man made climate change and relying on unreliable computer models to predict climate change is reason for disbelief.
