Maybe it is an age thing or a cultural thing but I have had several miss communications when clients use a general term for a time of day. In the recent weeks I had two clients ask to meet in the afternoon. I suggested 1:00pm or 2:00pm to both. Client A, actually wanted to meet at 11:00am and Client B wanted to meet at 6:00pm. I'm not complaining - just stating an observation.

The following definitions are from Merriam Webster

Parts of the Day
Morning 5 am to 12 pm (noon)
Early morning 5 to 8 am
Late morning 11 am to 12pm

Afternoon 12 pm to 5 pm
Early afternoon 1 to 3pm
Late afternoon 4 to 5pm

Evening 5 pm to 9 pm
Early evening 5 to 7 pm

Night 9 pm to 4 am

So I suggest a time,then they say something like "oh I was hoping for 1pm or 2pm"

"So why didn't you make that clear & say so in the first place?"

I'm guilty - I've said "early morning" before, meaning 8 am or so. Realizing for many hookers, 11 am is early for them, I've dropped the descriptors and given time. I do include "in the afternoon" or "in the morning" so they don't think 2 AM when I mean 2 PM.

Perhaps the gents just looked at their schedules wrong or had unexpected time open or close up after their initial communications? Has happened with some of my fine fellows.
