He and OJ. Both guilty - just not convicted. Big Difference.

LMAO! It's Trumps fault that Democrat John Wiley price is a corrupt criminal robbing his black South Dallas constituents. Perhaps he thought it was "reparations"? $500,000.00 cash seems like a LOT to keep in your home.

Goodolboy, CB & Texexetoo I'm not saying its Trumps fault. I am saying Trump, his cronies and the majority of politicians are doing the same bullshit. It doesn't make it ok, but its happening and always has
Am I ok with it? I'm ok with it to the same level Trump supporters are ok with Trump and his whole family doing it to the WHOLE COUNTRY. They are running and expanding their business by using the office of president. Doesn't seem to bother the Trump fandom
Yall act shocked at John Wiley Price. John Wiley has done a hell of a lot more for blacks than Trump has done for anyone
Are you really so naive that you believe John Wiley- Politician Crook. Trump- Businessman and Negotiator. That is really funny. Do you think John Wiley has Russian ties and has properties all over the world?. John Wiley disclosed more than Trump, granted the FBI seized it. I bet if the FBI kicked down a few Trump doors, Trump would make Bernie Madoff look like a philanthropist
Btw. OJ & John Wiley were acquitted. All 12 Jurors said Not Guilty. These were not mistrials, they were acquittals. This was not 1 or 2 jurors holding steadfast for guilty, which would have meant a mistrial. I know 4 JWP cases were mistrials
This is government corruption from the prosecutor.
OJ got railroaded on his prison sentence. White payback for his murder acquittal. That is corruption. Go to a prison sometime. Its mostly Black and Mexican.
The Opiate Epidemic- a bunch of doped up white kids, Health Crisis
The Crack Epidemic- a bunch of dope crazed Black Thugs and Criminals

@themystic
"Go to a prison sometime
It's mostly Blacks and Mexicans"
You make several valid points in your post that I agree with and can easily support, however are you absolutely sure you want to make the above statement part of an argument you can defend? I have compelling statistics on the subject and if you are trying to say it's a widespread conspiratory railroad project, well Pards you'd have to lay enough track to go to Mars and back. I implore you to please not dilute some of your valid comments by over simplifying others.

Ok. I'll just stick to the only facts I know. First, Dallas County Commissioner Price has earned right around 2 million dollars GROSS during his 30 plus year tenure as a Dallas County Commissioner. Second. The MAXIMUM cash donation permissible by any single donor is $100. ALL CONTRIBUTIONS MUST BE REPORTED several times each year and no corporate political campaign contributions are permissible. NONE. I will leave it up to you how one half a million dollars in cash was doing in a safe in his home. Actually it is my understanding that the amount was closer to $150,000.00 Third. All contracts, including large construction contracts require 3 votes on the court. Commissioner Price has no singular control over the vast majority of Dallas County expenditures outside of his Precinct budget. Granted the Court consists of 4 Democrats of which Commissioner Price is the Senior member which does give him considerable enfluence. Oh and yeah there is a Republican. Forth. With respect to the money in his safe and upcoming tax evasion charges. I happen to know that Commissioner Price supplements his income by flipping houses and luxury automobiles. No provisions in the law prohibit him from doing so. It is permissible for a county elected official in the state of Texas to earn outside income with a few obvious restrictions.
These are simply balanced facts I happen to know irrespective of race or party affiliation. Full disclosure;I am a white Republican. The FBI and the Department of Justice had 7 years to make their case and they failed to make it to a jury they assisted in choosing. As for me, I am a very strong advocate for meaningful prison sentences for any public official that has broken the public trust regardless of race or party affiliation; Jesse Jackson Jr.,Black. Dan Rostenkowski,White. Rod Blagojevich,White.
What do they have in common? The State of Illinois. Ok they're also Democrats except Rostenkowski,he's dead so he WAS a Democrat, if he's in heaven he's probably a Republican now! Ok,just kidding ,plenty of Republicans have done time and Richard M. Nixon was a Republican. Have you.ever heard of a couple of Mayors from Chicago? Last name Daly. I think their successful questionable exploits might have given their successors a false sense of security about what you can get away with in public office.

I just do not understand how the prosecutors could spend 6 years and likely hundreds of thousands of dollars in addition to salary and not find something against JWP to convince a jury with only 3 black people on it that he was guilty. At least 6 of the jurors, according to the Dallas Morning News, appeared white.
Under the circumstances, you have to question both the ability and judgement of the Federal lawyers. One case, 6 years, they lost. No million dollar a year job in the public sector to go to next.....
I can't say he is innocent, but at this point, he is not guilty.

not all Chicago Politicians are corrupt.. I give you the "Iceman", Jerry Butler, as evidence.. County Commissioner for 30 years, vocalist on R&B classics, such as "never gonna give you up", "your precious love", and "hey, Western Union man".

at the risk of adding levity to the topic.. black women in Dallas refer to John Wiley Price as "our Man downtown".
and they refer to Chung Tran as "our Man who is always WILLING to go downtown".

IMHO, the case the government presented was just to complicated. Too many counts, too much paperwork and too many insanely complicated paths to follow. I liken it to the images that if you stare at them long enough eventually a 3D image pops out at you. The government looked at the evidence for over half a decade and then the case popped out at them. They tried to show a jury the same thing and said look it's right there. Only jury never saw it.

The new standard? How fucking stupid is that? JWP has been doing this shit for 30 years. Payoffs and bribery and cronyism are hallmarks of the Democatic party. Trump may be inexperienced but he is not a corrupt politician

Your a funny guy txexetoo. You obviously don't know much about Trump or politics. You might want to pick another thread to get involved in. Trump has been very involved in political bribes and payoffs since he first entered the business world. Payoffs, bribery and cronyism are part of both parties Txex
"Trump may be inexperienced but he is not a corrupt politician"- lol, do you really believe that. No way, your not that stupid
Trump breaking every ethical law concerning a presidents private business dealings, yes Texex this is setting a new standard

JWP has been scamming Dallas and his "constituency" for thirty years! It's more likely that Trump would be following the JWP play book. Trump has more money than JWP could dream of steeling from Dallas. Price is ultimate player in "race politics".

Guys, this discussion would perhaps be better served if we avoided racial divides and references to individuals NOT Commissioner Price. I have carefully read this thread and the comment that appears to be missing is direct acknowledgement that the verdict was just and Commissioner Price was indeed innocent. Seriously. What does the current President and whatever he has or hasn't done have anything to do with the verdict handed down for Commissioner Price? Come on guys. Again, white Republican here that is very active politically just looking for honest debate on the merits of the case and the verdict. This really could be a meaningful discussion rather than where it's heading.
