Tarrant County question
Ok.. so when I come back down there in March, I'm going to spend a couple days in Ft. Worth.. the question is this.
Any part of town that I should NOT stay? I'm leaning heavily towards downtown at this point. I don't want to do the Beach/820 area.. but other than that... any suggestions on what to avoid?

Obviously avoid all the No-Tells on East Lancaster LMAO.
Southwest seems to be devoid of competition, so that may be an target rich environment - not sure how many hobbyists are out that way.
You might PM Sir Lancehernot and get his opinion. He's the poobah of TCLR.

Good call on avoiding the Beach and 820 area. Also, anywhere accessed by the north freeway (35W between downtown and 287) will be a pain in the ass because of the construction.

The area around I-30 and S. University Drive works well.

Ooh-- thanks for the heads up on construction. I'm not in the area anymore so I have NO clue what is torn up right now and what is good.

All of this. How does DFW get by doing these 5 year construction projects? Beyond irritating.

talk about bias.. the thread was titled "Tarrant County", and all of you act like it said "Fort Worth".. even Grace ("leaning heavily towards downtown")! Arlington, Euless, Hurst, Bedford, Watauga, North Richland hills.. even a swath of Grand Prairie are in Tarrant County as well.
skip the 360 corridor, but HEB is underserved, I think.. not many decent FS Providers, despite a central location. that's where I recommend.

Grace,
Chung is correct! I would either stay in HEB or get Grapevine. Ft. Worth and Dallas have easy access to Grapevine, as well as Arlington etc.
Hope this helps!

HEB might be a viable option-- but I know I have a few gents who don't see me often because I seldom make it all the way to Ft. Worth. So yeah-- I am leaning more towards the Ft. Worth side of the county.
Arlington is forever a no-go as far as I'm concerned. I know some make it work-- but the risk/reward scale is a bit more skewed there in my personal opinion.
When I come.. my plan is to spend 3 days in the Tarrant County area, 3 days downtown Dallas, 3 days galleria/north area. So central isn't crucial as I will be in my normal haunts too while in town.

I am on the east side of Ft Worth, so Los Colinas west to east Fort Worth works for me. Downtown , West, or South Ft Worth is out for me unless it is non-rush hour times.

I took a survey in the TCLR awhile back and asked the members which area of Tarrant County they felt was the most underserved.
West Fort Worth (roughly south of I-30 and west of I-35W) garnered 21.8% of the votes), and Northwest Fort Worth (roughly along 820 from I-30 on the west side north and east to Saginaw got 16.4 % of the votes.
I echo the concerns about traffic in the 35W/820/287 area.

So what I'm hearing.. is that I may be better off either leaning towards HEB... or perhaps White Settlement on the north end.. or heading out of town along 30 on the south end...
Hmm. This is clear as muddy water

I have n opinion on White Settlement, but I'd suggest I-20 and Bryant Irvin.
BellaFW had great success in that area, Abigail Rosaland seems to be doing well there now, Arianna Love seems to have settled on somewhere near there after spending a lot of time in south Fort Worth, and Lily's had Benbrook (just two miles further west) pretty much all to herself for years. I think MarieLynn has a semi-permanent or permanent incall near that area, too.

I may just split 2 days in or around Benbrook and 2 days in HEB. May be the best way to approach it. Will do some more in depth deciding as the time draws near.
