Default resolutions/traditions and such...

I am not one to have a New Years day tradition...Now usually my daughter-in-law makes the traditional new years day food like blackeyed peas/ham or corned beef/cornbread & cabbage.....
BUT this year we are gonna have a family cajun fest...seafood filet gumbo/jambalaya/fried catfish/red beans & rice/crab spread/homemade hushpuppies{had to throw a little Texas in there...lol}/bread pudding w rum sauce/banana pudding

Do you have a tradition??

And do you make New years resolutions??

Mine is to loose a few pounds...shop less {how many purses and shoes can a woman have..lol}......and of course play more!!

My resolution is to finially settle down with the woman I have fallen in love with.
I dont have traditions typically, but I am ready to take my life forward.

I am pretty close to being off eccie forever. So many live will be better when that happens.

Every year I resolve to ignore other resolutions if they get in the way of fun.

And, congrates Mccaffery. That's the best kind of fun.

I want to take a real vacation, one that i plan. Oh and i want to have some hobby fun while on vacation. I'm thinking about Nola, New York city, or Costa Rica.

Switching from vegetarian to vegan! Also focusing more on hobbies I used to really enjoy (tennis, fencing, horseback riding to name a few) and I'd also like to learn how to code.

Little mama, when you come to KC, we're going to have to go to my favorite soul food place. They have black eyed peas, cabbage, cornbread, catfish, fried chicken, peach cobbler. So we'll make up for the traditional New Year's feast you're missing this year!

I don't have any traditions, but I pretty much resolve every year to leave the world a better place than the way I found it. Mostly, I volunteer at a lot of places at least monthly, sometimes more. There's always a need. My favorite is rocking babies at the NICU.

That's awesome Seductrix4u. Me & my best friend do a lot of donating & helping with the homeless. Earlier this summer we purchased a bunch of purses from a Goodwill store & loaded them with hygiene products & feminine products. We chose to do this because we seen on Facebook that a lot of homeless women don't have the luxury of feminine products. It truly is a great feeling to help those in need. Like I always say, if you can't find a good person in this world, be one!

You are such a sweetheart, Kat. You impress me more and more with each post you make. In my car, I keep "blessing bags" that I hand out to people who are on corners by stoplights, holding up homeless signs. It's got hand sanitizer, a granola bar, a bottled water, chapstick and $5. It's not much but if it can get them a meal, then I figure it's the least I can do. We have a group here in KC called ServeKC and we do everything from serve meals at the Ronald McDonald House to sort food at Harvesters to rock babies at Children's Mercy to work in urban gardens that supply food pantries with fresh produce.

My grandfather used to tell me the only thing you will take with you when you leave this world is what you gave away.
Never made much sense until I got a little older. Giving is always better than receiving!!
Except in the bedroom then it goes both ways!!!!

Saw a guy down by the Plaza with a cardboard sign that said "Broke As Fuck". I gave him 40 bucks for being creative and telling it like it is. I can't imagine what it must be like in that situation.
