I feel like some men assume if you have darker skin you can not be latina/hispanic which is not true.
I remember working in the houston galleria area and me and this girl had similar skin tone, maybe she was a shade darker, and she spoke no english, and she was latina and she thought I was latina to.
Majority of people in America are immigrants so its safe to say that everyone is mixed.
I have a darker complexion but my family, that i know of multiple generations, didn't come from Africa. As far as my ancestry tree goes I am native and european.
But since my skin is dark society will automatically think I came from africa.
