Raven, I don't think you're very far from me. I'm in far N Dallas / Plano at the Frankford Rd exit off the Dallas N Tollway. I'd love to take you to lunch one day this week, and you can talk about all these issues you're going through, and I'm a great listener. And sometimes you feel better when you can talk it out and think about it, and maybe decide what's the most important thing, that you need to do first. Sometimes things aren't so overwhelming when you can put them in order of importance. ♡

My condolences on your loss, RR.

It's instructive how heartfelt pleas for reasonable assistance from providers with good reputations and good reviews are much better received than those who aren't as well regarded or who ask for the moon. Others could learn a lot from your example. Again, I'm sorry for your loss.

You're a sweetheart I really appreciate you taking the time to read my post as well as comment. Obviously the majority of the responses I got here as well as through my private mailbox have been very positive. Only a couple of negative naysayers but there's always a few bad apples in the bunch. Overall I am completely overwhelmed with appreciation and gratitude for the positive advice and generosity I have received thus far.

1. from a client point of view, unless a client asks, does it really matter what a provider plans to use the money for? does anyone ask a doctor, bar owner, uber driver, panhandler on the street what they're gonna do with whatever money you're gonna give them??

how about just asking for help in getting a room in exchange for an appt and leaving out all the preying on another's sympathy/conscious?? (like so many charitable orgs/non-profits do in print & media ads)

2. if one is going to lay out a story as to why they want/need help/money (which as stated above is unnecessary), then that person better be ready to back up their story. i've read & heard so many stories about sister being in an accident, mother's got kicked out of her home, grandma dying, etc. (very few of which were true) that i'm wary of any such plea/request for help.
