Paying for Hotels/Motels and Hiding my Tracks

So this is primarily a question for the ladies... I have a little honey I want to shack up with in a motel room but want to have zero chance of any bills showing up on a credit card statement or mailings coming to my home later. From what I have gleamed off the inter webs there are places that allow you to pay with cash and more specifically pay cash for the security deposit. Apparently once you check out someone will take a look at the room to make sure everything is in order so you can have your deposit refunded. But it also sounds as though most places require formal ID regardless of how you pay.

My question is whether this is only a practice for the real sketchy places or if the nicer more mainstream hotels allow it as well. There was a thread on this on the national eccie page and one guy indicated that he busted his wife because the hotel sent a thank you for staying with us note back to her off the address on her license that was photocopied. This suggests to me that you are safe only with the real shitty places. I imagine I'm not the only schmuck wrestling with this. Any helpful feedback would be appreciated. Any unhelpful feedback would be deserved.

Bush I have paid cash many times at a lot of Motels during the day around Rochester. Sometimes they would ask for a credit card for extras, but if there isn't any they don't run it. I have never had any trouble in the past ten years or so doing it. But I do have a hobby credit card just in case if that is all they take. It's a pre paid card. MB

I don't know how much time you have but a buddy of mine got a post office box in a town near where he lived, changed the address on one of his credit cards that was in his name and signed up for paperless statements. He uses that card and address when he checks in so if they do send something (they have not yet) it would come harmlessly to the PO Box.
If you can use your work address. I have a small side company that I have a couple credit cards for and am able to use them.

Very few places allow cash. You may have try a tent at a camp ground somewhere, they accept cash i think.

There is also the business trip. I know a buddy whose wife caught him anyway.

Register them online with a fake address, but remeber it.
Then you can use also online and to make a reservation.
Even a fake name.

I don't how having a different address registered to a card is going to help. Most hotels require that you show your license.
