Default Vegas Resort Fees; 2016 Edition

Las Vegas Resort Fees 2016 Guide (accurate as of 12.28.2015)

Resort fees are higher than ever; 7 hotels have reached $32, most are MGM Resorts properties. Click the link above for the full list of properties that charge a resort fee, and exactly what you get for your money.

Fee increases in 2016

Out of the 77 hotels listed below, 39 of them increased their resort fees in the last months!
(Not so) fun fact : if you would book one night in each of these 77 hotels in 2016 it would cost you $1 759 (+tax) in resort fees which is a 7% increase from last year!

Here are a few notable increases observed:
  • From $29 to $32: ARIA, BELLAGIO, MANDARIN ORIENTAL, THE SIGNATURE AT MGM GRAND, MANDALAY BAY, VDARA, FOUR SEASONS
  • From $29 to $30: MGM GRAND,
  • From $25 to $30: MONTE CARLO, NEW YORK-NEW YORK, PALAZZO, VENETIAN,
  • From $25 to $29: BALLY’S, HARRAH’S, SLS, THE LINQ, FLAMINGO, TRUMP
  • From $22 to $28: WESTGATE
  • From $20 to $25: GOLDEN NUGGET
  • From $19.95 to $24.99: WESTIN
  • From $17 to $24: TUSCANY SUITES
  • From $14 to $19.95: HOOTERS
  • From $9.99 to $14.99: SILVER SEVENS

Which hotels do not charge resort fees?

A few hotels have not implemented resort fees yet (but for how long …?). Here’s the list:
  • Alexis Park All Suite Resort
  • Arizona Charlie’s Decatur
  • Arizona Charlie’s Boulder Highway
  • California
  • Cannery
  • Casino Royale Best Western Plus
  • Eastside Cannery
  • ELARA
  • Four Queens
  • Fremont hotel and casino

Someone told me when hotels first started resort fees there was a way to not pay them. Is there any way to get out of paying the fees now?

I did not see the Carriage House on the list. I have always found that they have very good rates, and they don't charge a resort fee.

There are so many properties in Vegas; not all that don't charge resort fees are on the list...

Lightbulb @mattsack

The easiest way is the most obvious; choose a hotel w/o resort fees.

Here is a full list of other ways to avoid paying them:

They need to include resort fees into the rate comparisons. Rental car companies and airlines are forced to include all the fees in the rates they quote. Hotels need to be dragged into that.
