Since I began many moons ago T levels have decreased a bit so while I'm still quite capable I can take it or leave it. The hobby doesn't hold nearly as much sway over me. The big head now does much more thinking before taking the plunge.

For me, it seems to be about the excitement of meeting and getting to know (sexually) someone new. I have several friends-with-benefits in my normal life that I can and do enjoy some great sex with, but I'm a bit shy about making new friends and meeting new people in the real world, and so being in a community like this has made it possible for me to explore and expand a more diverse set of sexual interests.

One thing I will say is that having taken an over three year break from the hobby my desire is as strong or even stronger then when I first started. I am more excited about an up and coming date. Play is really getting fun as I have I new fresh outlook on the hobby. My decisions are more spontaneous and my choices are quit different then the first romp here.
If some of you long timers that have been hobbying week in and week out for a decade took a break you would see the hobby in a whole new light, and I would hope for the better, man I'm really liking this tour.

Well, I have been in this hobby since around 1985 or so. I will list the things that seem to have changed during that time for me. Not all sexual exactly but changes to the hobby none the less.
1. Blowjobs are much different. When I started if you attempted to get a DT most girls would have been pissed. Only porn stars did it back in the day.
2. It is now normal for ladies and gents to trim their genitalia. When I first started full bush was the norm.
3. The decline of the SW. Used to be many more out there.
4. DATO was not heard of when I started.
5. Condom use is much more present. BBFS was pretty common back in the day.
6. Degradation play I feel is much more common than when I first started.
7. I never heard of multiples until the mid 90s

I realize some of these may just be my perceptions and others may have had different experiences. Those are just how I see it.

I agree.... I get so turned on by being a provider, in any capacity. It's actually become quite a stress reliever.. "Oh today is my work day... I've been waiting for this!" lol

I have also noticed that clients tend to appreciate you more than "fwbs". Which I still had when I first started providing but not anymore. Hmm. Perhaps this could more or less be a jaded side effect of the biz/self-fulfilling prophecy, but still makes good sense. I feel like if you begin to demand a certain level of appreciation because you're so accustomed (spoiled) by your regular clients then why not just keep it restricted to them? Makes sense to me ;p

The hobby helped me stop caring about how i looked and if she liked me.

Of course i want RW women to like me so they come home with me but im not worried about being perfect anymore and im much more comfortable with rejection and what the hobby has taught me so well is that you don't click with everyone and thats OK.

I now go out with a laissez–faire attitude and amazingly im way more successful at meeting people then when i spent an hour grooming, worrying about what I wore and made sure I had a few talking points.
