I use the Meetup groups a lot. If what you mention above interests you, among other things (hiking, gardening, etc) it is a great way to meet like-minded people and participate in weekend activities. And as TZV mentions, there is an app you can use to find and join groups and get updates. Enjoy.

Lol and I take acting classes and used to be a dancer! Go figure. I'd rather run around naked than have to talk/nteract with a very large group at the same time.

I am amember of several meetups. it's like most groups in life. You'll get along with most, really get along with some, and actively avoid a few.

Just join the ones that seem interesting, go a few times then stick with it or bail out. I enjoy the hiking ones and the ones with happy hours as a nice capper to the work day to hoist a few and meet new people. have fun!

I teach photography classes and have lots of regular workshops via meetup.com. Great medium to meet some really cool people.
