I've been to many functions with hobby friends, such as restaurants, theater, symphony, motor-cross and other sporting events, shopping, strip clubs.....it's all good! I almost always give my real first name when I get out and about, because like the gents, there's always the possibility of running into people I know.
Disclaimer: Before some well intending gent asks, sorry....I don't barter BCD activities for the experience of a date that includes activities other than BCD.

Out frequently. Dinners, brunch, barhopping, and other date type stuff. Sometimes as part of an extented date. And sometimes simply off the clock as a friend. But, Maxi is correct, there's a line that's understood by both.
But for "al's" comment:

I'd like to suggest a change to his assertion so it reads:
... the majority of the ladies in this hobby don't have the opportunity to show how ...
Angel presents an example.
I myself have walked past a friend (we both discretely smiled) that was assisting her client close a deal at a trade show.
I think it's all perspective and depends on the two folks themselves.

Clothes
In some cases I purchase clothes for my date rather that give her money. I enjoy shopping with a woman an always leave the final decision to her on what to buy. Another thing to know is Victoria's Secret has a gift card that you can sent to her email so her mailing address is not needed.

Providers should never be seen in public...or is that children?

Yes, and since many people in my (current and former) hometown(s) know me in my RW as a Navy person, my usual excuse was either (depending on the lady's apparent age) and sometimes I was in uniform, too:
-- Counseling her on a possible military career
-- Counseling her on her son's/daughter's military career
and not always a naval career.
Used the above excuse more than a few times.
And twice, after overnights, merely explained that we met in the dining room or elevator (one time) and the lady "asked me about the military and I'm obliging her request wth a cup of coffee."
Never had to explain in a theater or in a Victoria's Secret.
However, the "shock and awe" factor hit home a couple of times when in a local GC, more than a few waitresses or entertainers asked me if a certain red haired woman was my spouse or s.o.
And what really caught me off guard was when a certain blonde (and she was then well over 35) was questioned as being my daughter in the same GC but by another waitress. I guess she looked much younger and at the moment looked much older, but the actual difference in our ages -- 20 years only.
Guessing now, gonna be questioned as being my grand kid sooner not later.
= = = = =
So, next week, when I host a certain UTR YL at an upscale eatery, my excuse will be "I put her brother into the Navy a couple years ago and he just got promoted and we are celebrating. And, yes, I am trying to recruit her, too!" ~ evil grin! ~

Yes more often with the business travelers away from home than the locals they can unwind and let loose.

I have gone to some public venues with both providers and non providers movies, lunch, but more often just lunch. One provider had a family emergency and contacted me for help and I spent most of my day transporting her around town.

I do go out with clients, but mostly it is visitors to the area. I do have a few clients in the area in which we go out for lunch or dinner.
When I first started in the business, I use to make everyone meet me in public but quickly realized not everyone could do that or was very nervous about it. I did it as part of my screening, but learned from other ladies a better way to screen.

I like taking pretty ladies out. If I meet a provider out of my area it will always include lunch, dinner, etc. In my local area, since I am married, probably not because it would to easy to run into some I know. Small area.
Also GiGi, I hope to get back to St Louis at some point, and I would be proud and excited to take you out in public!
