I actually think it's a great idea for camping or whatnot (ya know when you are out in the woods & stuff.) A lot of time a portapotty isn't around and besides they are just... YUCK. As are most state park bathrooms.
And squatting in nature can be another adventure in and of it's own (meaning plants you might not want to accidentally bush with your back side; from poisonous to prickly.... and don't forget the creepy-crawlers; snakes, bugs, scorpions, or God forbid a bear......) I guess I am either paranoid enough or have enough survival instinct, I can see a distinct advantage of not being caught in that position.
Then again, this is a country gal's answer and not some "pillow princess."
(No jab meant if you are one, good for you.... I think... lol Nothing wrong with being pampered, but most of the time I GET IT IN! Whether it's from camping, mudding, messing with folks animals... Helping my peeps out with gardens... Hanging drywall lol)

I can see an advantage is being able to "do it like the men do." (WHich would be standing up! And yeah, writing my name in the snow.... a novel idea! Can we say "penis envy?")

My only hang-up is cleanup, unless I'm carrying it in a bag, in a bag, with a pack of clorox cleanup wipes... I can see it turning into something as unsanitary as a catheter bag... or a mini portable urinal.... yum.
And let's not even discuss thought of sharing one.... LOLOLOLOL

That is an urban myth.

Urine is not sterile, even before it comes out of you and gets contaminated by your skin. Bacteria are present at low levels in the urine of healthy people not suffering from a urinary tract infection, Evann Hilt of Loyola University of Chicago reported May 18 at a conference of the American Society for Microbiology. Now, Hilt and her colleagues are figuring out what bacteria make up the normal bladder community and whether a change in that community might trigger urinary problems.

“Now that we know they’re there, the question is what are they doing?” Hilt says. Most likely, she says, “it’s like any other niche on our body. You have a good flora that keeps you healthy.”

It appears that the urban legend about urine being sterile has its roots in the 1950s, Hilt says, when epidemiologist Edward Kass was looking for a way to screen patients for urinary tract infections before surgery. Kass developed the midstream urine test (still used when you pee in a cup) and set a numerical cutoff for the number of bacteria in normal urine: not more than 100,000 colony-forming units (cell clusters on a culture dish) per milliliter of urine. A person tests “negative” for bacteria in their urine as long as the number of bacteria that grow in a lab dish containing the urine falls below this threshold. “It appears that the dogma that urine is sterile was an unintended consequence,” Hilt says.

We all have bacteria, the healthy kind. If you are sick you get bacteria, the bad kind.
If you are sick, you do not pee "healthy pee" (in other words, sterile pee.)
You don't even pee sterile when you are healthy either.
There's still bacteria in there.
